Do you agree that if Pacquaio vs. Mayweather?

doesn't happen in the spring of 2012, then it will NEVER happen? I happen to think the perfect storm is brewing and am getting excited at the possibility of the chips falling into place for Pacquiao and Mayweather to happen in early 2012. Every thing seems to be on course for it to happen. However, if it doesn't, then I've lost all and absolute hope of it EVER happening. What do you think? Is it May 2012 or never?

Update:

"The only way I saw this fight happening this year was if Mosley defeated or hurt Pacquiao in their last fight. If either happened, you know Mayweather would have jumped from his couch watching the Lady Gaga concert and ran into the MGM Garden arena ring to vocally challenge Pacquiao to a fight." - one of THE funniest lines I've seen in a while...ROFL!!!

If it doesn't happen in 2012, then I'm done caring about it. There has already been enough drama over it, I'm tired of waiting. Like you said, I'm getting my hopes up right now, and they'll be even higher if both win their upcoming fights. Until it's fight week and you can feel the excitement, I won't let myself actually believe it's going down.

    I agree with you totally.

The only way I saw this fight happening this year was if Mosley defeated or hurt Pacquiao in their last fight. If either happened, you know Mayweather would have jumped from his couch watching the Lady Gaga concert and ran into the MGM Garden arena ring to vocally challenge Pacquiao to a fight.

What is really funny is that Mayweather has said many times that Pacquiao is one dimensional. That even if he was on steroids or PED's, that he would still beat him. If that's the case, put your money where your mouth is Mayweather. Why challenge Ortiz for peanuts when Pacquiao is right there waiting with the real cash flow. If Pacquiao annihilates Marquez, I can only assume that Mayweather will make up another excuse to not fight. It's been his "M.O." for awhile.

I dont see it happening, look at the credit Mayweather is being given already by some for fighting Ortiz. He has made a career recently out of fighting rarely and making it seem as if its the biggest risk ever against the best opponent because he is coming back from a self imposed lay-off. If Floyd gets paid well against Ortiz expect him to retire for another year all the while bragging that he is bigger than boxing, pointing to how much he earned and generally trying to hold the boxing world to ransom in the hope that he will fight who we all want him to fight.

If you had said 6 months ago Floyd would come back to fight Ortiz people would have laughed at you, now Ortiz has had just 1 good fight against a relatively unproven Berto and has not defended his belt even once before Floyd comes to snatch it away.

For me it says it all that Floyd fans are getting so excited about this, Floyd has campaigned at welter for years while avoiding all the welters and because he is fighting some one that is young with a bit of power (but no technique) that won a belt from an untested welter its deemed to be amazing, he should have been doing this all along. The last 5 or 6 years of his career have been smokescreens and mirrors but I am not fooled.

Yes because by December 21, 2012...Kaboom... LOL. Kidding aside, if the Ortiz fight is a tune-up as Floyd fans (Floyd Jr. never said so himself) claim it to be, then next to the tune-up should come the big one.Floyd Jr. is the biggest challenge for Pacquiao and vice versa. If this does not happen after the "tune-up", it's not happening and we know who's ducking who.

I certainly hope you're right. But my gut tells me that Amir Khan probably beats Judah and Floyd goes after him. I really hope I'm wrong.

that would be one hell of a fight but I don't think it will happen

It already will never happen !

    2012 or never!!! I agree....

it won't happen because pacquaio won't agree to olympic style drug testing....and to be completely honest I would be questioning too. The man can jump weight classes seemingly effortlessly etc. Also apparently an ex-sparring partner claims to have injected him. I dunno how true that is....but anyway i have my doubts
