If a job creator creates one extra job why do we tax the job creator even one penny?

Update:

Isn't taxing and regulating business owners the only thing that's wrong with the economy?

Taxing everyone "equally" makes about as much sense as making all people wear the same size shoe.

I'm not sure what the point is.

    We don't do anything.

The US plutocracy taxes corporations so that they can turn around and pay corporations through sweetheart crony contracts serving US richclass military industrial congressional complex. That is, occasionally. Usually working class tax coffers cover all this US richclass corporate waste.

So why were their so many jobs available in the 50s when the top income tax rate was 91% and the corporate tax rate was 55%?

We have the lowest amount of tax receipts from rich people in over 50 years, how would high taxes be what's wrong with the economy

What's wrong with the economy is that we are in the liquidity trap and that has nothing to do with the rich people, whats wrong is that middle class people like you and me owe too much credit debt, same with small businesses. Small businesses are in the process of deleveraging right now because of all the lost revenue

All the people at the top and all the big banks are making record profits right now but they won't give loans because we are in the LIQUIDITY TRAP. See what I mean now? This has nothing to do with how much money the people are the top make, and I assume that's what you mean when you say job creators.

The top 1% aren't the job creators, the majority of employment is done by small businesses, 97% of whom make income that is below the 1% income tax bracket.

  • Depends on what you mean by "job creator."

If you are a Republican, you believe that business owners are job creators, and you would be wrong. In fact, business owners tend to be job destroyers, because providing jobs costs money and therefore cuts profits. A business owner does not want to create jobs, because then he has to pay wages.

If you are a Democrat, you believe that customers are job creators, and you would be right. The more customers there are, the more likely a business owner would HAVE TO create a new job, if only so that his business can keep up with other businesses and not lose out because of customer service. If two businesses each have 50 customers, and an individual can only handle 25, then the business with two individuals working there (the owner and one employee) will move faster and be more friendly than the business with one worker (the owner) who cannot handle the customer load.

So the customers who go to the slower business will grow tired of waiting and getting lesser service, and will move to the competing business that handles its customers well. This requires more employees, so more jobs.

It is the customer that creates jobs, not the business owner. The business owner does not want to create jobs, and will do everything except get rid of customers to ensure he does not have to create jobs. More customers FORCE a business owner to create jobs.

And the beliefs show in how Republicans and Democrats handle taxes. Republican voters do not pay attention, and foolishly believe that Republican politicians cut taxes and Democrat politicians raise taxes. That is not accurate. Both parties raise taxes and lower taxes. The difference is not the tactic, but how it is applied.

Republicans lower taxes on those they believe create jobs but actually destroy jobs (the business owners), and make up for the losses by raising taxes on the middle and lower classes (the customers). But since those customers lose money under Republicans, they can no longer provide sales to business owners, and business owners see no reason to create new jobs. The sales do not warrant expansion.

Democrats lower taxes on the middle and lower classes (the customers) and make up for the losses by raising taxes on the rich (the business owners). But since the customers have more money, they can buy more things and provide more profits to the business owners. The business owners still make money, but only after they provide things to the middle and lower classes. More importantly, they have to expand their businesses if they are to meet customer demand, thus providing more jobs.

History shows that everybody does better with a graduated tax system. The wealthy are wealthier there are dramatically more middle class and much fewer poor if the top 1% are taxed at a 70% rate. When you lower the rate there is a temporary improvement for the rich, but soon they have nobody to make money from and there are no products for them to buy. A strong economy depends on cycling money from those that have it to those that have better ideas of what to do with it than save it for a rainy day.

Reading only your question and not the rant that follows anyone with even the slightest grasp of economics would conclude that you propose doing away with all sales tax. For anyone who has ever run a lemonade stand can tell you that you can't hire a single person if there are no customers to buy your lemonade. I totally agree we should only tax income and stop all sales taxes to relieve the burden on the job creators, the consumers.

I think you misunderstood, by taxing equally he/she ment that that everyone would pay a flat tax of 10 or 15 or 20 percent or whatever the decide on. Right now takes are scaled.

No business in America has ever been taxed. They collect the tax on their sales and foreword it to the government as required by law.

See how the GOP creates boogie men?

Ultimately, we want everyone to create jobs as much as possible, and we have to tax everyone equally.

I can create one minimum wage job if you given me a multimillion dollar tax rebate. Sound good?
