When you spay her depends on her risk for getting pregnant again. Ideally you need to keep her inside until the kittens are weaned and she is spayed - if she's allowed outdoors before that of course there is the risk of her getting pregnant, but also of her getting killed by a car, etc. and not returning, leaving *you* to raise a litter of orphan kittens. The earliest she can be spayed is when the babies are 6 weeks old - they can do without her for a few hours, and yes, she can still nurse them after she is spayed. She will still produce milk as long as they are nursing. Ideally she will be spayed though when they are 8 weeks old. Call and make her a vet appointment though for 6-8 weeks in the future so that you don't call and find out that the vet is booked up and you can't get in. This way her appointment will be made and will be waiting for her.

Kittens can be spayed/neutered when they reach 2 pounds for the boys, and generally 2 1/2 pounds for the girls. This puts them at between 8 and 10 weeks old. It's called a pediatric alter, and has been safely done in the US for over 20 years. This way you know the babies are never going to come into heat, spray, etc.

She can be spayed as soon as the kittens are weaned but you must make sure you do not let her out because after giving birth, she will immediately go into heat again. The kittens can be spayed or neutered anytime after 8 weeks old. Check with your local veterinarian to make sure.

Don't spay her until after the kittens have reached six weeks old and can consume solid food. if you spay her now she wouldnt nurse the kittens. when the kittens reach 12 weeks old is the time to spay and neuter them

I recommend about 5 months or so. Just so she'll be finished feeding the babies, you'll know she's done with her kitten business, and then talk to your Veterinarian. If he/she says it's a good time to spay her, then do so. If they say wait awhile, then wait awhile.

Personally, I believe you should just ask the Veterinarian over all instead of people on yahoo answers, but whatever floats your boat, dear.

    Wish you luck!

    Sincerely,

    Neon.

Wait until the kittens are weaned so that their nursing is not disrupted. Take them all to the vet in a few weeks to make sure everyone is healthy and ask the vet when the best time would be. He'll know better than any of us.
