Congressman Weiner, can congress fire him, or is his employer the people who live in his district?

A congressman gets his job when the voters in his district elect him. They decide that he is the right man. The people of New York's 8th district selected him. If he is bad they fire him by not voting 4 him in next election. Whether he stays or goes is up to them.

Look I am not saying what he did is OK. The thing is I live in Singapore, so its none of my business.

He was hired to represent the people of the 8th district, not to be good role model for kids. I know people who are in the 8th district. They think sending me naughty pictures is a cool thing to do. So what Mr. Weiner did was represent them, which is his job.

Have you ever seen that Yahoo member who's username is "Dick Head" and has that little picture of the end of his thingie as his avatar? HE lives in the 8th district!

His employers are his constituents in his district.

Congress can't fire him, but they can make his life on the Hill miserable by taking him off committees and ostracizing him.

Jeff D is correct that Congress can expel a member, but it's not going to happen in the Weiner case. So far all he's guilty of is being stupid.

What's happening is he's been told that he will get no support from the national party when the time comes for him to run for reelection. No money, no support from prominent Democrats, no share of the national ad buy money. Weiner is not a rich man.

Anyone the 8th district would replace for Weiner will be just as bad, they will only elect elitist, socialists who are arrogant, like Weiner, the only thing he is truly sorry for, is getting caught.

Weiner's danger to society is his preference for socialism and siding with far left politics.

Congress has no jurisdiction over Weiner, showing off his circumcision, he didn't break the law and his ethical violation is far less severe than other socialists, who have done far worse, who also do not resign.

Congress can expel any member on a 2/3rds vote. 20 members of Congress (15 Senate, 5 House) have been expelled.

So yes, the House of Representatives can fire him.

The people in his district are the ones who should decide and the majority of them think he should stay.
