Hey anime/manga fans....does it suck if it's popular?
Of course, not quality wise.
Just think of (imagine if you don't read manga) you, and your favourite manga. Now, you've been reading it for the past few months, and really feel it is truly a magnum opus; story, art and quality to the highest caliber. For a while, it's relatively obscure, and only you and a few hundred or thousand other people know about it. But then, a big studio, backed by a large budget, creates an anime adaptation of it. Suddenly, it's now mainstream, and everyone knows about it.
Do you feel resentment that it's now not just 'your' manga? Or do you, despite the fact that you've just become one of the obscure masses who now read it, still enjoy it.
Funny to think Bleach and Naruto started this way.

No, and actually I personally believe that anyone who would abandon an amazing series just because it has gained popularity is an idiot. If the series hasn't changed then there is now reason to like it less just because more people have started to like it. If you don't like a fandom for a series then just stay away from it, don't let it ruin a good series for you.

It depends on the manga.
I find Naruto interesting still because there is still so much too be said but the downside is that I just want it to end already.
Bleach is just too long and should just end.
Case Closed I have the same opinion on.
D. Gray Man manga I still find interesting and wish they could resume the anime but know that thats not going to happen since the mangaka keeps hurting herself and getting sick.
So what I am really saying if the plot still makes sense and still has a good story to it, it won't get old but if the manga is just being lengthened with ridiculous plots and the mangaka starts a new story or antagonist to make the story longer it just gets stupid.

I never made the manga, so it was never mines. The only popular anime I've enjoyed is the dragonball series, except for gt. I watch any anime that seems interesting to me, it's either the plot and/or art that catches me. If an anime becomes too long and is repetitive, where nothing stands out to me (it'll be dropped). I'm more into anime's that are not too long now, plus I like watching a new one after a new one and isn't always about fighting or romance only (too many good short anime's that should get noticed more). You just mentioned the ones I've dropped lol.

So far everyone gets so absorbed in the anime
and dont read the manga so much
(even though most of the times the manga is way better)
But i must admit i m not so happy with the newbies
when they say how great it is, or how much they love it
and how much they know about it, when they werent there
they werent the strenghth to have it animetized (not a word i know)
I remember meeting someone that loved saint seiya (that was good by itself)
I was watching some DBZ, (before it became so popular in the west) and he started to make fun of it
2 years later the DBZ boom started, and he was saying how much he liked it
I just felt like throwing something hard and heavy on his head

I totally agree with you.
I'd actually prefer that the animes I watch (I don't read a ton of manga) aren't popular. I mean, I saw Vampire Knight as soon as it came out and not a lot of people had heard about it yet. Now look at it. I kind feel, well left out or something, it's like, "Hey, I saw it first!" or something, I know it's stupid that I think this way though. I mean it makes me kinda sad, but it wouldn't make me dislike the anime/manga any less unless they realize it's popular and start to make a ton of filler eps to stretch it out.
I tend to not like popular animes anyway, usually just average ones, and that's okay. Yeah, I get where you're coming from.

i actually enjoy knowing that there are people out there who are having the same feelings as me while reading/watching an anime. so the popular it is the better,
but a negative side is that once an anime gets popular they decide to make stuff like movies for that anime (like in naruto and bleach) which is completely irrelevant and ends up sucking bad..
i actually introduced a few of my friends to anime/manga, coz for me its more the merrier :P
(as long as your not obsessed -_-)

i would not say that all of it sucks, however the final high quality of music has actual long previous down. Wanna understand 2 extensive motives? The over-use of the vocoder and the downfall of top of the variety lyrics. besides the undeniable fact that, in case you actual pay attention to woman Gagas music, the production of her songs is surprisingly superb (from a musical attitude) so she actual stands proud while it is composed of production. i'd additionally upload that every physique is extra fascinated in "style of the month" artists and hit singles wheres because it was once extra geared in the direction of total albums and dissimilar hits. basically my thoughts.

Ooh no I don't mind, in fact I like it when they turn popular, I like to get people to enjoy what I enjoy and when this happens, it just reassures my decisions.. Naruto and bleach and other anime that go on for so long just lose their taste, well that is for me, I kind of find it boring when the things goes on forever and do not understand how people enjoy them. that is my opinion after all.

Oh my gosh, I feel like Naruto has gotten so out of hand. I mean it's funny and stuff, but with the tv shows i think it's gotten a little out of hand. There's like 10 seasons just with Naruto Shippuden. I mean, I do read the popular manga, but I don't like the manga that's like a bajillion books. It's just one of those things that you feel like you've read first, and then a lot of other people like it as well and then you can't stand those overly obsessed fans. That's my view on it. :p

I'd still love it, even if my favorite wasn't popular and then was. I mean just because it's popular doesn't change anything about the manga/anime itself. I'm not going to change my opinion on something just because other people go crazy about it, just like I won't change my opinion of it if people hate it.
Makes not difference to me if people love my favorite manga/anime or hate it or how many people love/hate it.
That's just my opinion anyway. :)
