Registered name is the name you choose when you send in the registration papers to the association (CFA, TICA, ACFA). It has the cattery name (of the breeder) first, then the name you pick out and your cattery name (if you have one) at that end. You CAN use Selachi as the registered name if you choose.

For Example (my new Ocicat show kitten):

Jucha Zorro of TC......Jucha is the cattery name I got him from, Zorro is the name we chose, and TC is my cattery name. If I didn't have a cattery it would just be registered as Jucha Zorro.

The only time you may have a problem is if your name you picked out happens to be the same as one of the breeder's past cats, but that would be very rare it happens.

Talk to the breeder and she will explain it to you. I have never had a purebred cat myself, but the purpose of it is so the cat's bloodline can be registered.
