Is this computer good for gaming? I just want a few other opinions?

The specs look pretty good I just want a few other opinions and if it's not could you tell me why? That would be appreciated :)
I only have one problem with a custom computer. I porbably couldn't build one (I'm not sure how difficult it is and I would really hate to break a piece of technology worth $200) and there I don't know of anyone in my area who could build one. So also if you could, could you suggest a pre-made one

its alright its not amazing.
the issue with buying pre built computers is people know lots about ram, processor and hard drives as ram and hard drives are standard and processors are advertised by intel ridiculous amount.
the issue is graphics cards. people dont knkow a huge amount about these and so the companies tend to skimp out a bit on them
for a gaming build you want the following specs:
i5 2500k
4 gigs ddr3 ram
amd 6850 hd graphics card
windows 7 64 bit
the rest is up to you.

Yes, that is a good computer for gaming. I do have a few complaints about it though, such as the price. I own my own custom computer shop and I could probably build that same system for about less than half the price. Another thing is the graphics card. ATI is a good brand to go with if you need an affordable card to use for photoshop, but they are not meant for gaming. NVIDIA on the other hand make cards that are built around gaming. The chipsets are built to have improved functionality when running high intensity programs, like games. NVIDIA also puts out drivers to improve the cards performance much more quickly than ATI, and average ratio of 3:1. Also, HP hardware will never be as good hardware that you can get off Newegg. That could also save you about, oh, $1100 in this case. As long as you know what you're doing, it will save you alot of money to custom build. You must also take into account all of the preinstalled bloatware that will come with the computer. Bloatware can slow down a computer greatly, no matter the hardware specs.

This is a Mid-Range gaming machine. It could play most games at mid to mid-high quality settings.
This is a Desktop computer which has pretty good graphic capabilities.
Buy it if you are an average gamer.
