What does this country need next election....a politician or a business person?

Our government is way out of control. It is not for the people anymore.

How say you? Agree or disagree?

I agree. We need someone who is not corrupt. Someone who really wants to help the people of this country and doesn't just mouth the words. Someone who will not be bought. Someone who is honest and I mean really honest. Someone who will make peace and take us out of all the wars. Someone we can respect and look up to. I doubt we will find this person in Washington DC. Personally, I want a third party and not the Tea Party.

We need all of the politicians to put partisan politics aside and start working for the good of the American people as a whole and not just specific segments of it. Every one who can needs to pull their own weight. A President cannot govern if he does not have the support of Congress. Now the debt problem has grown so large it cannot be fixed because no matter how you shake it the republicans are not going to vote for tax hikes and that is the only thing that can give us credibility in the world again, as well as balance the budget and pay off the National Debt. So, we're pretty much up the creek with out a paddle.

I believe our country was changed by competition and greed, and the computer has a lot to do with it. Is one supposed to close the door after the horse is gone or should we leave it open hoping that some day that horse will return? That horse has tasted better food and more of it elsewhere.

The next thing is for America to retrain themselves (mentally and educationally) to grow with the rest of the world or we will be left behind. It's up the parents to be strict to their kids. Are they up to the challenge? And it's up to "companies and corporations" to bring in the jobs and is not up to the government. Are those companies and corporations ready? There used to be a saying that might fit today:

"We, the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing."

Maybe we now are qualified to do anything with nothing.

Since we "need" a balanced budget it will cost money to get that. I would say we need a business person however the business person I was thinking about also has an agenda of "green" on his mind which will cost us money too. I don't see anyone out there in the election list who would do what I want.

We need a person who has some common sense and is not an egotist. A person who has proven himself/herself to be successful in business dealings would be more likely to be able to understand about finance and how to get jobs going again. We also need a person who is not afraid to stand up to our enemies and who will stand behind our allies. Since Donald Trump has indicated he won't run, I think Herman Cain is the next best choice. He certainly wouldn't be a person Obama could target about the race card. I don't like the idea that Mitt Romney's medical care plan is so similar to Obamacare, and while I like Michelle Bachman, she is a professional politician. I wish there were a third party called "The Constitution Party". It would be for people who believe in strict adherence to the principles set out in the Constitution.

We do not need politicians. All they think about, all they care about is how the public perceives them so they can get re-elected. We need a God-fearing man, a businessman who knows how to budget and brings our jobs back to America. Encourage "MADE IN AMERICA" AND add a 20% tax on imports. We need the money to circulate at home.

And we need someone who can see we spend more money on other countries instead of our own. Let us outlaw the greedy unions, but enforce pensions and profit sharing. Leave the social security system alone, dump credit cards as a bad flesh eating disease--corrupt for most people and killing America's stability. Bring home all our troops. If we need to deal with terrorism, let's close our boarders, and have our men here to fight. Not dying away in the world.

It needs a person with an actual brain, that doesn't put their own agenda, or the agenda of those that financed their campaign, and wants this country to go back to what the founding fathers wanted and have a government that works for the people again, not corporate America or foreign interests. I don't give a **** about turning some middle eastern country in to a democracy, I care about America!

I hate to say this, but what you need is a Jew for Prez..!

Just for once, get in someone who can balance a budget...!

It's ridiculous.....all these hundreds of years and still there's a National Debt. You'd think a country the size of America could afford a decent Accountant.....

As for selling the whole shebang down the chute to The Chinese and ending up owing them Trillions of dollars, that's incomprehensible. What were They thinking..? That The Chinese would abandon Rigid Communism and opt for Green Stamps and Twinkies..?

Sometimes America worries me.....we need a Strong Man out there batting for us, otherwise we all go down the chute. Where are the Eisenhower's, Reagans, Roosevelts today, for goodness sakes..? Choices like the Obamas or, even worse, Sarah Palin and we're all in serious trouble.

Nearly all of the most popular and respected presidents--including Lincoln, FDR, Eisenhower, JFK, Reagan, and Clinton--were not businessmen. And some of the most unsuccessful presidents--including Carter and Baby Bush--were businessmen.

I think the best remedy for corruption in government would be campaign reform so that there's some kind of limit to how many politicians any special interest group is allowed to buy.

Ross Perot predicted everything that's taking place. He showed us w/ his charts and grafts the detrimental effects long term excessive deficit spending will have. Now we're on the brink of default.

He audibly described that "sucking the life out of America" sound as the labor gets out sourced overseas.

This business man was a political genius about domestic affairs and he didn't owe anyone anything on his way to his Presidential candidacy.

America missed the chance of a lifetime. Now we're stuck w/ the same 2 parties that got us into the mess that is going on for more than a decade. We're suffering through Great Depression time line. Our politicians think they know how to spend OUR money (that's easy) they don't know how to spend less ... that's because they are in the pocket of their constituents. Now they're talking about slashing the benefits we paid for while we diligently contributed our efforts in the work force as the contributions that gov has abused came out of our checks. We never had a choice to save the SS money on our own. Gov decided to steal it and now it's (SS) on the brink of insolvency.

The only mystery to me is the lack of outrage. Gov is going to continue the dirty work because we give tacit approval when we do nothing.

I agree. The politicians are the folk in charge for each concern dealing with us as we communicate. They created the subject concerns yet refuse to take the blame for it. particularly, they lie and blame the different area. there is now not in basic terms a conflict of words between the events, they have become mortal enemies and their total concentration is to wreck their opponent at any cost. the two political events finance this attempt and the management of each occasion are looking new strategies to conjure up strategies of destruction to wreck the different area with. there is no such ingredient as morality or compromise in our political technique to any extent further. Politics has develop right into a game of chess and what's at stake is super. at latest there have been many stalemates yet do not fool your self, there'll be an eventual winner and the winner takes all on the rate, and death, of the voters. i don't understand that an remoted company guy can turn this usa around yet he/she could be heads above any of the politicians retaining workplace as we communicate in looking a answer to our financial fiasco. besides the undeniable fact that, the politicians on the two facets could in no way enable that person to prevail ... that must be counter-efficient to their own terrific pastime and that for the period of their occasion. for my section, each flesh presser retaining workplace top now, regardless of if or not they call themselves democrat or republican, desires to bypass. Our political equipment is carefully corrupt and re-electing a similar people to workplace will basically assure that it keeps to be that way. this could be a trouble-free and sparkling fact ... why do maximum of fail to work out it?

Americans all need to start working together as a unit of one. Way to many special interest groups only taking care of their own needs and the hell will the others who might get in their way. Washington is only a small piece of the pie. You all voted for change, yet rebel when someone tries to make changes.
