does this mean my kitten is sick?
on monday i went to this shelter and bought an 8 week old kitten. the lady who helped me said he was a fun, healthy little kitten and she gave me the food she fed him and told me that was his favorite food. now over the past week he has had diarrhea everrrryyy single time he goes to the restroom and it smells really bad. he even drags his butt on the floor like some dogs do. my parents said its because i have beenn feeding him too much, but i remember from the first day, before he ate anything he had diarrhea. so is he sick? is it worms :O

If it is diarrhoea every time he defecates, something is wrong.
He will be losing a lot of fluids and not digesting food efficiently which will cause his immune system to run less efficiently exposing him to illness.
Ring the shelter and tell them about the problems you are experiencing and if they can help.
Also ring the vets and book your kitten in for a consultation.
If the faeces are runny and very smelly it may be giardia (just ONE common protozoa that is often around shelters and and areas housing a lot of cats/dogs) that is causing the problem.
It is also transferrable to people, so make sure you wash your hands very thoroughly and get your kitten seen by a vet as soon as you can.
If it is worms, check the faeces for segments of cestodes (tapeworms), they will look like smaller, moving grains of rice. Nematodes (roundworms) cannot be diagnosed without taking a faecal sample and testing for eggs.
There will be no harm done worming your kitten with a wormer like endoguard or drontal now (kittens should be wormed at 2, 4, 6, 8, and 12 weeks of age and then every 3months after they are 12 weeks of age). Endoguard is easier on a kitten's stomach and is more palatable, though I don't think that it kills tapeworms.

I work at an animal shelter with the kittens. Everytime I clean out the kitty cages, the kittens poop always looks like, creamy or runny in a way. And it smells funky. After he goes potty try wiping his bum with a wipey, some pooh might be stuck underneath. I don't think he's sick, but if you're concerned, try calling or going back to the shelter and ask them. Because going to the vet is highly expensive.

He needs to go to the Vet. They can give him medicine. He probably does need to be wormed and it wouldn't hurt for him to get a good check up since you just got him.

Take your cat to a veterinarian's office and see what they can do for him.
Good Luck!
