Can you reverse gauged lobes back to normal?
hey!
So I've been thinking abut gauges for a while now...my school won't let me have piercings, so I've got a little more time to think about it :P anyways, I think I'd like to gauge my ears to like the size of a quarter [...does anyone know what exactly that's called?] but I know it looks kind of unprofessional, and I don't want something that I did while I'm young and stupid to affect my career for the rest of my life...so, I was wondering, can your lobes stretch back from that size? and how bad is the scar? and if you need surgery, how expensive is it?
Thanks so much!! :DD

SURELY you don't think that you can do something while you are young that would affect your career for the rest of your life? Tell me that this is NOT true!
Sarcasm aside, why do you think that so many people are trying to quit smoking, or doing drugs? They started young, and now are (especially those who do drugs) are living a life of hell.
You can NOT fix STUPID, no matter what the age.

A few people have ears that will shrink back from such a large size. More people don't. You can't know which group you are in until you stretch your ears and take them out. Most folks who go that large and want them completely closed will need to have them sewn up.
Depending on your area, the surgery can cost $300+ an ear. Most of the people I know have spent 700+ getting their ears corrected.
What does this mean? It means either you commit to spending $1000 dollars on closing your piercings if/when you need to, or you choose not to stretch your ears to such a large size.
I like to tell people, "Never stretch larger than you want to wear in the Nursing Home." That being said I have 3/4 inch lobes and am aware that some day my situation may change and I'll be spending that $1000.
Life is all about choices and consequences.
Source(s): By the way, a quarter is just under an inch across. 3/4 of an inch is the standard size below a full inch.
