I just started working at...?
I just started working at a grocery store as a cashier. I started yesterday and i've only worked 2 shifts so far, but the thing thats giving me trouble is the produce codes. Theres so many fruits and vegetables that i'm having a hard time catching on to that! So this is a question to anyone that's worked as a cashier at Walmart or any other grocery store. What was the most effective way to learn these product numbers?
Is there a certain trick you used to help?
I've been having to get the paper out and look them up everytime and it really slows everything down, so any answers may help. I know its only my 2nd day and that it will take awhile to catch on to, but still, any help is appreciated!
Thanks!

The same way you memorize anything, flashcards. Write the fruit on the front and the number on the back, and you will learn them in a snap. If they won't let you take the book home, snap a picture of each page with your cell phone between customers, so you can write the flash cards later.
