Help with breath sounds?
I'm in a respiratory program and i'm curious if anyone has any tips on how to remember specific breath sounds. I think crackles and rhonchi sounds similar and maybe someone has tips on how to tell them apart?
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)7 years agoComputer won't open file from email?
I'm applying to a program for school and the applications were sent through email.
I don't have Microsoft Word on my Macbook Pro so I attempted to open the file on my Sony VAIO, which DOES have word. When I go to save the file to my computer or download it, it says file was deleted because a virus was detected. I've tried multiple times and it won't let me download.
So I tried it on my moms VAIO. It doesn't detect a virus and let me download the file, but she doesn't have word to open the file. So this does me no good.
And on my Macbook, the file opens so that I can view it, but it won't let me edit the text and type the application.
So the one computer that WILL allow me to edit the text and type the application says that a virus was detected and won't let me download it!
Any way to get past this virus that's detected? The other two computers opened the file just fine, so why is this computer the only one detecting a problem?
1 AnswerOther - Internet7 years agoDenied a job because of body modifications?
I'm doing a speech on this and I'd like to hear from anyone who has been denied a certain job because of their tattoos even though you had the ability to perform the job or even had the education for it.
If so, did they specifically say that it was the tattoos/piercings, or did they come up with an off the wall reason?
A lot of places claim to be "Equal Opportunity Employers," when in reality they're not.
Do you have certain modifications for your religion or culture and have even been rejected?
So let me hear your stories or situations, people!
I'd love to incorporate it into my speech.

Different cultures can play a roll too because some people have modifications specifically because of their culture or religion.

2 AnswersTattoos8 years agoSushi! Advice on making it at home?
I'm on a mission to learn to make sushi and I want to hear from those that do!
I just ordered a sushi mat but still need everything else. I had to start somewhere, right?
So here we go.
What's the best brand of rice to use? I know short grain, but not sure what brand people prefer. I know everyone is different but there has to be one that most prefer.
Do you use a rice cooker?
I watched a video where the guy was overly paranoid about the rice sticking together when it was done. Is this a huge issue?
I live in the boonies away from any cool markets so I can only hope that I can find nori and crab at some grocery store or Walmart.
Tips?
Thanks!
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes8 years agoDaith piercing healing?
I've had facial piercings before, so i'm pretty aware of how they heal, but i've never had any part of my ears pierced.
I got my daith pierced 4 days ago and it hasn't caused me any problems yet, so my question will be fairly simple.
I have a couple small dried pieces of blood left at the top from the day I got it pierced (hasn't bled since then). He told me not to move my piercing, to just clean it and do the best I can to keep the jewelry still. I have the heart jewelry in it and the pieces of blood are kind of stuck behind the heart so they're hard to get off without moving the jewelry.
My question is this: Is it worth trying to get the dried blood off with a Q-tip, or should I just wait for it to fall off after awhile in the shower? Surely it won't hurt to leave it there until it falls off, right? I don't want to accidentally move the jewelry with a Q-tip and irritate it all because of small pieces of blood around it.
Like I said, i've never had any sort of ear piercing so i'm not used to this cartilage piercing/healing thing.
Thanks!
1 AnswerOther - Beauty & Style9 years agoRemoving hair dye from skin?
I got my hair dyed today and my hairdresser got quite a bit of dye on my face. It's near my ear and kind of looks like a sideburn. I've tried alcohol, petroleum jelly, and nail polish remover to get it off and it hasn't helped. It actually looks like some of the blonde hairs on my face got dyed the color and i'm FREAKING because I do NOT want dark hair on my face! Any other things that may take it off?
Also, if my "facial hair" did manage to get dyed, how many days will it actually stay that way?
6 AnswersHair9 years agoWill Zune software work on a MacBook?
This is probably a stupid question, but i'm a Zune user and i'm considering buying a MacBook Pro with my income tax money this year. Will the Zune software actually work on a Mac, or is iTunes the only thing that it will really cooperate with? I've never really used a Mac, so I have no idea what will work with what.
I have about 2,000 songs on my Zune so i'd hate to have it all and get a Mac and it be completely useless.
Make answers as understandable as possible seeing that i'm still using a PC and have yet to enter the wonderful world of Mac.
Other - Computers9 years agoWhats the difference in these two classes?
I've been avoiding Public Speaking at all costs, and yes, I know that you need it as a requirement for any sort of degree, but i've been holding off. I HATE public speaking, as most do. I'm too nervous for my own good. But for my pre-dental requisites it says I can have Public Speaking or Principles of Communication. So I was wondering if any of you knew what the difference was between the two? I have an advising appointment next week so of course i'll ask then, but i'm curious.
Thanks!
1 AnswerOther - Education10 years agoMy hair keeps breaking off?
For starters, i'm 21 years old if that helps anything. I've stopped straightening my hair due to my hair starting to fall out. I dont know if it's just breaking off, or falling out, but the bathroom counter is always covered in hair by the time i'm done fixing it every day. However, my hair is so long that I really cant tell if its just the ends breaking off, or if it's actually coming out!
I used to have extremely thick hair, then I went through the teasing phase a few years ago and it's thinned out since then. But i've never had this much hair come out before, not even when I teased it every day! I dont know what to do!
Is there a certain type of shampoo I can get to help? It's ridiculous that they make so many shapoo's so i'm not even sure what to get. Right now I use 'Dove Heat Defense', but I know the shampoo you get in stores isnt as good as whats in the salon.
I've tried Redken and Bed Head before, but do you know of any specific kinds that will help the situation? Also, if you have any ideas on whats causing it, let me know!
My hair is finally the length i've been wanting. It's mid-back. But would cutting it short and letting it grow back out help any? Or will the short hair keep breaking off too?
Like I said, i've stopped straightening it due to this. The only thing I do to it is put it in braids while I sleep and take them out in the morning so that my hair requires no styling so that I dont break more off. Ideas?
(I posted this yesterday and got 1 answer and it involved natural/at home remedies with oils. I dont have time to sit at home and mix up random items and let them soak on my head for hours. I need something, such as a change in shampoo, or oils that I can actually BUY. Also, I know that cutting my hair short wont keep it from breaking, i'm just curious as to if it would help with it any. Kind of like starting fresh with the new hair that grows.)

Has anyone used Lay-Away.com?
I want a Macbook Pro, but as any college kid, I dont have $1500 to dish out on a computer at the moment. This site has Mac's that you can put on lay away and pay payments on, but I'm DEFINITELY not using it until I know if its bogus or not. I'm just curious if anyone has used this site before?
Push comes to shove, i'll just save up the money. Just curious.
2 AnswersGoogle10 years agoI just started working at...?
I just started working at a grocery store as a cashier. I started yesterday and i've only worked 2 shifts so far, but the thing thats giving me trouble is the produce codes. Theres so many fruits and vegetables that i'm having a hard time catching on to that! So this is a question to anyone that's worked as a cashier at Walmart or any other grocery store. What was the most effective way to learn these product numbers?
Is there a certain trick you used to help?
I've been having to get the paper out and look them up everytime and it really slows everything down, so any answers may help. I know its only my 2nd day and that it will take awhile to catch on to, but still, any help is appreciated!
Thanks!
1 AnswerOther - Food & Drink10 years agoAdvice about working in retail?
I've never had the opportunity to work in retail because i'm from a small town that, well, offers no jobs in retail. I worked at Sonic for 2 years, so I have had a job; however, I just moved to a bigger city and have had 2 interviews for retail jobs at the mall.
Journeys is supposed to be hiring me for the "back to school" rush, and I have an interview with Spencers tomorrow.
The thing with Journeys is that i'm not guaranteed my job after the school rush is over, he said we'd all have to prove ourselves with sales and overall personality. BUT, i've never worked in retail so i'm not exactly sure how hard it's going to be to "prove myself" in order to keep the job when the rush is over.
Spencers i'm not too worried about because it's not a short term job offer like Journey's is.
Any advice?
2 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment10 years agoDissolvable stitches?
I got my wisdom teeth removed 9 days ago and my oral surgeon gave me stitches that he said would dissolve in 5-10 days. I know it hasnt been that long yet, but they havent gone ANYWHERE. They're loose and move around when I drink and eat; however, as I said, they dont seem to be going anywhere. He said "If they dont come out just play with them a bit and they should fall out" but the thought of that freaks me out a bit, so i'd rather it be a last resort. Should I resort to messing with them and making them fall out, or just wait for them to possibly fall out/dissolve themselves?
I would call the dentist office but they're closed for the weekend and i'd rather not make an appointment to get them taken out because its almost an hour drive out of town.
(I know its not in the right category, but no one actually answered my last question when it was in the dental category.)
4 AnswersOther - Beauty & Style1 decade agoQuestion about dry socket?
I'm getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed Wednesday morning and i'm worried more about potentially getting dry socket rather than the actual surgery itself. I know i'll get a care sheet of some sort but I want answers from others who have actually had oral surgery..
Help ease my mind and let me know how likely this is to happen, please!
I've heard that if you dont have a dry socket after the first 3 days or so chances are you'll be fine, but i'm not sure if that was true...
Kindof freaking out here...
(No rude answers please, I know I could have looked it up somewhere but i'm pretty fond of Yahoo Answers and felt better asking myself..)
1 AnswerDental1 decade agoDying hair dark auburn?
I have darker tinted brown hair and i'm wanting to dye it dark auburn in a couple months. I'm wondering if when the auburn starts to fade will it just wash out and gradually blend back into my natural hair color, or will roots be an issue?
I figured since its dark auburn that the roots wouldn't be too bad because my hair is brown anyways, but i'm not sure.
Both of my sisters are hairdressers but they seem to get annoyed when I ask anything so I came here instead.

1 AnswerHair1 decade agoCell phone holder/wallet?
I want something small that holds my cards, money, AND cell phone so its not really in the way.
My sister has one and theres a pocket in the front just for her phone and it opens up as an actual wallet.
I would get one like hers but I would like to find a different style or I wouldnt be posting this.
Does anyone own a wristlet from Coach?
Not sure if its worth spending that much on such a small item.
Or does anyone know of a site that has anything similar to what i'm wanting with decent styles?
