What to make with pears?

Question

My friend gave me about 60 small homegrown pears that are not yet soft enough to eat.  Even when they are soft enough, I will never be able to eat them all!  I am looking for some ideas or simple recipes that can use up a lot of these pears (and I DO mean simple, I am not very handy in the kitchen).  Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Pear bread :) like banana bread put with pears, it's so good

make a salad 
use arugula 
feta cheese 
pears 
tomato
cucumber
toasted sliced almonds
and a vidalia onion dressing ..
