I don't understand why I'm not losing weight?

I'm a girl and 16 years old and I just joined the gym two weeks ago and I've been working out everyday for the past 2 weeks...I run about a combined 2 miles everyday and I use the elliptical and work on abs and legs and arms and back and I've started eating healthier with the occasional junk food. But so far I've only lost about 2 pounds. I don't understand why I'm not losing more and I feel myself gain weight when I eat the smallest things. I used to lose weight so much more easily when I ran track but now I'm running the same amount but not seeing as much results. what else can I do?

Update:

even though this contradicts what I said about having lost only 2 pounds, I do feel that my metabolism has gotten faster even though I'm not losing much weight.

You could be gaining muscle. Also, you could just have a lower metabilism. Remember, its not always about the scale, its also about how you look and feel.

You only joined two weeks ago and you are running 2 miles a day. If weight lose was quick and easy most people would be at their ideal body weight. Keep increasing the distance you run. You do not lose weight by running the same amount each day. That is how you maintain your current weight.

3,500 calories is the equivalent to around a pound of fat. At 2 miles you are probably burning around 225 calories per run. A can of coke has around 150 calories.

I know it seems like your working out a lot and not seeing the results that you want... but honestly 2 pounds in 2 weeks is pretty good. That would be good for me anyways. Imagine what will happen if you stick with it?? It's only been two weeks, I mean most people cant even lose anything in 2 weeks. Your doing great just don't get ahead of yourself. The only other thing I can suggest is to up your fiber, and drink lots and lots of (filtered) water. Otherwise your doing great be proud of that

1: You are still growing, you should not be dieting now.

2: You only have been going to the gym for 2 weeks, it took a lot longer to gain the current weight you are at.. you will not lose it in 2 weeks.

3: Losing 1 pound a week is great keep it up

More discipline, no junk food, no slack, more patience. Don't expect to lose 5 pounds per week, even someone on an extreme diet won't see those results. It takes time. Stick with it though, once you see the weight come off you'll be unstoppable.

You don't have as high as metabolism. Just stick to what you're doing, it's the healthiest way to lose weight. It's just gonna take a longer time.

You probably aren't pushing yourself. Your body is use to running 2 miles. You're going to have to elevate your workouts. Run 3 miles instead, drink more water or even green tea.

Keep increasing your workouts and workout time.
