clothes dryer lint filter missing?
I acquired a used front load tumble clothes dryer . Works fine, in good condition. Problem is, the lint filter is missing. What will happen if I keep operating it without the filter?
I'm guessing that the fan blades will get dirty fast. Since I use it infrequently maybe I can get away with opening it and cleaning the fan blades? Iets say no replacement filter is available
brand: union. Model 441
the exhaust vents to the front of the machine and its in a wide open area so no chance of lint build up causing fire except if we neglect sweeping the general area

That's a major fire hazard. Dryer fires are the cause of a huge portion of household fires. Track down a replacement online...try www.appliancepartpros.com. They have all kinds of random dryer parts....I found a lint filter for my compact tumble dryer there for a decent price when no one else had them or if they did they wanted a ridiculous amount of money. Better safe than burned down house. If no replacement filter is available I would scrap the dryer.

Without a lint filter, the lint will accumulate in the exhaust venting and could cause a fire.

use a long paint brush to clean the blades and stretch a pair of old tights over the door to catch any fly away lint .. clean it after every use ive had mine for nearly 8 years and it never had a filter it was second hand when i got it so it doesnt effect its life span
