Gandhi said he loved our Christ, and that Christians are not like Christ. I agree with Gandhi on this one. To answer your question, yes. Even Jesus said not everyone who says calls him lord will go to heaven.

In fact, by ignoring what most Christians say, you are probably closer to being a "true" CHristian because we trust in God. Not in man. If you love God with all and love your neighbor as yourself, you have fulfilled all of the law and the prophets. What typical Christian does this?

One should follow what God Himself has asked of us. The Holy Spirit gives us gifts such as Discernment, Prudence, Charity,.. we need to recognize those and worry more about following what we know to be true as not to follow what is not.

Absolutely. That's why Jesus left us instructions. Christians mess up all the time. Good thing we are forgiven.
