I applied Nair and now my skin is burny and red?

I used Sensitive Formula Nair before on my legs, arms, and face MANY times before with no problems. This time on my face it just turned red. It's not peeling or flaky or swollen or itchy. It's just red and kind  of burnt. Cold water made it worse.  I WON'T ever use it again, it's embarrassing. how can i soothe the burn and redness?

Dont put anything on it, such as aloe or other lotions it can irritate it more....The redness and burning will go away in a couple of days.....Ive had this happen before to, one time i used it and was fine the next like you....It will go away.....if for some reason it does not  consult your Dr, im sure they can prescribe something to help with the redness and burning, you may even be able to call your dr and they may be able to recommend  purchasing something over the counter to help with the redness and burning....Good luck ;)

your skin is prob sensitive to the sodium hydroxide in nair thats why it burns and the same chemical is found in drain opener too..........you culd prob sooth your skin by using some aloe vera lotion it usully works good on minor burns

You might of just had a reaction to it, did you have any open cuts? You could try aloe, or just dampen a washcloth (maybe try warm water) and lay it over your face. Chemical burn possibly?
