Who else thinks that this year's movie CONTAGION is just a rehash of OUTBREAK fron the 90's?

No its not. I listened to an interview with the consultant with the film who said she would not have helped them make the film if it was going to be like outbreak. (A movie she apparently despised)

Contagion is supposed to be a realistic portrayal of what would happen in an epidemic. Which means you don't save the whole world with one monkey and the disease isn't some random thing from africa.

No, Contagion is not a rehash of Outbreak. The two are miles apart. Outbreak is really an action movie with a virus as the motivating force. Contagion is more like a future documentary. It is horror of the most insidious kind, the kind that is not made up or "pumped up" for bigger box office.

Not sure...Hollywood managed to subtract the carrier-monkey from the script, so to them this is a totally new idea! Yay Hollywood!

My husband's friend thinks that exact same thing. I just think they advertise way too much :)
