Did supernova, known as PTF 11kly burn out 21 years ago.?

    No. It died 21 million years ago. A type 1A supernova within 21 light years would be devastating to this planet.

    It is found in a galaxy 21 million light years away, so it flared 21 million years ago. This was during the early Miocene, for us earth-bound types.
