Why does my cat hump my dog?
i have a 3 yr old male cat. he was neutered at 6 months and has never mated before. a few years ago, while in the bathroom, he humped my terrier mix CJ. last night i had both my dogs on the bed with me, and Woody (yes that's the Cats name) decided to hump my other dog, a puggle named Chucky.
i kept pushing him off Chucky every time he'd try, but i'd like to know what the root cause of the problem is if i can fix it and if anyone elses cats do the same thing.
he's an indoor cat and doesn't go outside, also there hasn't been an issue of him marking any areas of the house that i know of. and yes i know he's never mated before because i rescued him from the vet i used to work at and they had him in a kennel since he was a few weeks old.

Multiple cats and dogs for years. The humping is a dominating act.
I had cats who would hump my dogs, dogs would hump the cats, cats humping each other and dogs humping each other.
When I see it, I correct it. It is simply one animal telling the other *I am above you*.
