What would have done if you were legally open carrying and....?

You hear someone yell to you "Yo, Junior!" and turn to see a cop pointing a gun at you and asking you lie down in dirt. Then your in a big city and of all the cops there they all believe OC is illegal even with a LTCF, and are calling supervisors, lieutenants, and the like to see what they can charge you with and one cop evens says "Were not even allowed to OC off duty".

Based of a true event: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-vUYeJXSrA

*The man is being charged with Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct after this was posted.

Update:

The only thing more scary then civilians who have an ignorance of the law, Is cops that have an ignorance of the law.

You obey the cops then sue them after.

But then again I view cops as scum. And I feel this will come to a head someday. Gangs have a higher honor code it seems. And I have reasons for my hate besides what they did to my mom.

Well, I'm in the camp of turn on the recording function on my cell phone and do exactly what they ask and sue for harrassment after.

However, because I am not, by nature, that turned on by confronting authority, I would almost certainly never open carry in an urban environment. Woods? Maybe. Home? Certainly, I have a tall fence.

Does that mean I am accepting a curtailing of part of my 2nd amendment right? Probably - but on the other hand, when I carry I don't want ANYONE to know until I make the decision to draw.

Open carry is legal in many states. But I am not convinced its a bright thing to do this day and time. Far too many cops are not allowed to "think" on their feet. They are given orders and they follow them.

This is the main reason I do not like to see a military man or experienced policeman as chief of police or sheriff. The military and law enforcement must be controlled by a civilian.

The absolute best thing to do is to do exactly what the police say. Follow their instructions to the letter. Don't make any statements other than you are within the law or what you are doing is legal, and want a lawyer, if arrested.

I'd do as they say. The cops are the good guys, even if they may not always know what the laws are you can always find out and explain that you had thought it was so, hoefully they'd let you off with a slap on the wrist.

    * Yes Law Enforcement Officers do make mistakes in enforcing firearms laws, however in this incident they also Violated the Oath they took to Protect and Defend the U. S. Constitution, and need to be sued, prosecuted and held accountable as well as the City..* They are unfit, and unworthy to Protect, and Serve the People of Philly.*

Sue their azzes in court. As the police would say "Ignorance of the law is no excuse."

You'd be surprised at how many law enforcement officers are ignorant of many facets of the law.

He could of avoided a lot of hassle by doing as the overzealous Office said.

I would not of handled it that way, but that is just me. Not like the guy was at a pot garden.
