two dish antennas for a single set top box?

i have a 2 satellite dish connections and have two corresponding antennas; i checked and found that both of the antennas worked for both set top boxes; they had same frequency range and everything, just different direction.

im currently using only one connection.

and due to poor weather; the signal strength comes down frequently.

i have an idea that i can connect both the antennas (pointing in the same direction) in parallel and feed it to the set top box to gain more signal strength. will this work??

coz they both will be getting the same voltages.

and is there any harm for the lnb?

Hear what you are saying, basically you want to put two LNBs in parallel to increase the signal. Never heard of it being done and if it could be done you could just use one dual LNB on a single dish. Best to buy a newer lower noise LNB and make sure your primary dish is properly aligned. If that doesn't improve things then get a larger dish, so if you have a 60cm dish get an 80cm dish. Getting a lower noise LNB (and a bigger dish if necessary) will give a better gain increase than the +3dB you'd get by attempting to use two dishes in parallel.

You can set up antenna matrix by using more dishes to obtain more signal strength. But you need to get a multiple antennas match network device to combine the signal on the roof where multiple antennas were installed before feeding down into the frequency converter.

I don't seen any harm, as long as you observe the correct polarity on the feedlines. Also, try to make the feedlines exactly the same length. This will avoid phasing issues between the two antennas that would actually make the signal at your receiver less than it would be with a single antenna.

I wanted to do the same and use to dishes in one direction to pickup more signal. It can only harm the STBs power supply as two lnbs drag more current.

and i dont think it will increase your signal strengthn

you should a buy a powerfull lnb...

it is going to artwork. places separated by way of hundreds of miles could desire to be a topic. yet 25 miles aside could be wonderful. The Satellites have narrow beams overlaying distinctive aspects of the rustic, and that they must comprehend once you progression from one to the different, however the cutoffs are not that sharp.
