Why is it that certain people think that they can ..................?

Question

Think that they can tell God how things should be done and still expect to be rewarded by God. Isn't that being righteous overmuch or shall we say self righteous? Thinking that we can set the standards as to what's right and wrong and then expect God to live by our standards. Who can put God on trial and judge him? Didn't God say that we all will have to stand before him and be judged by him? Have we become blind in our thinking to think that we are now more powerful then God?

I'm an atheist but I was raised as a Baptist so I can relate. A lot of people I know don't really tell god how things should be, but they so tend to put words in his mouth and misquote the Bible. Its better to not stress about it.

But we also set the standards by calling god a HE.Even your doing it.Praying to a god and assuming its a male and not a female.
