PetCo vs. PetSmart..which one..?

is there really a difference between these two? And if so which is better? We usually go to the one near us so it's the PetCo...which one do you choose?

Both have their pros on cons. Petsmart is cheaper and many of the employees seem to know what they are talking about and there are more around to assist you, but I prefer Petco because it is cleaner, more organized, has a wider selection of foods, toys, collars/leashes, etc. Atleast in my area it does. It also supports the "Adoption First" program for the Humane society in my area, which is great for me because I get alot of things cheaper than I would usually because I adopted a dog from the Humane society.

this is the place you reside. I even have the two a Petsmart and Petco, and the Petco is plenty, plenty nicer. i like the cope with Bar, however the fairly some different products may be got here upon greater inexpensive at Petsmart. I save at the two because of the fact Petco contains solid Gold dogs foodstuff and my Petsmart would not.

I very rarely shop at either as there is a family owned store near me that I've been shopping at for almost 35 years. They are MUCH cheaper than either of those two places, but I would choose PetSmart over PetCo any day. I sometimes buy small Koi for my pond at PetSmart.

I don't go to petco or petsmart, I go to a family owned pet store. But I prefer petsmart over petco because I've had bad experiences at petco.

I go to Petsmart whenever I can. But I would never take my Yorkie there to get groomed or to go to the vet clinic in that place, stories I've heard are horrendous. I usually go to Petsmart to buy things like toys and training supplies (like the treat bag). I've been to Petco and I got bored... very easily.

I also go there to try and convince my mom that Blue Buffalo is better than Kibbles 'N' Bits and Beneful... I have not been successful just yet, but I will be! ;o)

I also go to a small pet store called "Healthy Pet Center", but I cannot bring Jill (my Yorkie) though because they have cats walking around the place. I go there just to look around. But I only go there when my parents do, I never ask to stop there. But Petsmart on the other hand...

We had both of these in our town, the PetCo went out of business, and the PetSmart is flourishing .... so the pet owners here decided that PetSmart was the better of the two.

I don't shop much at either of them, but even though I have a PetCo within 1/2 Mile from me, I still drive to PetSmart which is at least 10 Miles from me. I find that they are a little cheaper.

Many people are angry with PetCo now, because of recent deaths of many Animals, which the employees of that store, were frond to be responsible, due to negligence.

PetCo and PetSmart are owned by the same Corporation.

Petco- there is no petsmart in or around Portland and that will only be for things I can't get at the two stores(Fetch and Planet Dog) that are in walking distance to my place.

I like Petsmart better because their stuff is always cheaper and in comparison to the ones around me, Petsmart is way more organized, less messy, and the people who work there actually know what they are talking about. Talking to the Petco workers at the one in my area is like talking to a brick wall, they never know what products they carry or anything like that. I don't buy much from Petsmart though, only toys and grooming supplies, things like that. Not food and such.
