I'm thinking about getting a cat?

Question

I'm a big animal person but I grew up with dogs my whole life.  Now I'm on my own, living in a condo that don't allow dogs but allows cats.  So now I'm thinking about adopting a cat/kitty. I find with dogs,  female dogs are more lovable and male dogs are more dog like.  Is this the same with cats?  which are easier to live/deal with male/female or does it really matter with cats?
Help me I'm cat ignorant??

I have taken care of numerous kittens and cats as a temporary foster home for cats waited to be adopted and have noticed that animals are a lot like children. They each have different personalities and you really don't know what youll get. I can say though, if you love them and give them a nurturing home, they'll love you right back. If you're serious about adopting, I have three newborn kittens in desperate need of a home here in NYC :-)

I think it really depends on the cat but I must say from experience, a neutered male tends to be the most laid back and content but in general, most cats (especially when neutered) of either gender will quickly adapt to being a pet and being company to their owner and the more attention they get, they will give back!

It depends on the cat. My first cat I had was a girl and was really sweet and slept with me in my bed. The second one was a boy and was crazy and wild. My recent cat was female and she loved to play, she followed me everywhere and bit me playfully and had her wild moments sometimes as well. Girl's seem to be more clingy. I had almost no free time! I plan on getting another girl soon though (:
