Is #7 Arkansas vs #9 South Carolina the most overlooked top 10 match up you can remember?
*I used the BCS rankings.*
When is the last time two top ten teams have played, both are still technically alive in their conference race and national title race but the game is not on network TV.
Storylines for the game:
South Carolina needs to win to stay ahead in the SEC East race. I know the knee jerk reaction is to dismiss them from BCS Title game contention BUT if they defeat Arkansas and win out including winning the SEC Title game over the LSU/Alabama game, the media will pretty much be forced to put a 12-1 SEC Champion into the Title game.
Arkansas needs this win to stay in SEC West Title race. Laugh all you want but if Arkansas can win out and LSU wins against Alabama then Arkansas probably gets the nod to go to the SEC Title game. It works like this, if Arkansas/LSU/Alabama win out LSU will go into the final weekend at #1, Alabama 3 or 4 and Arkansas 4 or 5. Arkansas beats # 1 on the last weekend which in theory should put them in the 2 or 3 range, Alabama should move up a spot to a 2 or 3 while LSU losing to a top 6 team late in the season is not falling past 4. Insert a fist fight when the BCS polls come out, because in that scenario the BCS polls will be the tie breaker.
Long story short both teams are top 10 both teams either control their own destiny or are pretty close to it but have you heard anybody talking about this game?

one of them for sure...I think the LSU game will be good...but at this point I am sick of hearing about it and just want it to be over...maybe ESPN will finally have something else to talk about

The hype behind this matchup is missing because Marcus Lattimore is out for the season. Not to mention, the QB carousel at South Carolina has been ridiculous. Garcia then Shaw then Garcia then Shaw b/c Garcia got kicked off the team once again. South Carolina is not going to win out this year. They may have an explosive defense but you can't count on a DE to score two TDs everytime you play a big time opponent i.e. Georgia game. Arkansas has struggled against Ole Miss and Vanderbilt the past two weekends thus everyone is overlooking them as well. They are explosive on offense but very vulnerable. Expect them to get upset once before playing LSU.

South Carolina doesn't have the quarterback or the superstar running back that they started the season with, and Arkansas barely beat Vanderbilt and Texas A&M - I think that the game deserves to be overlooked. I wrote an article for my blog at http://bikinihill.blogspot.com/ where I talked about this game and picked a winner. I have to admit that the game is being overlooked though... ;)

I think it will be a boring game. Arkansas is a good team, but I think SC is overrated.
34-17 Arkansas.

It obviously doesn't help when they play the same week as #1 faces #2. You know how much ESPN has been yapping about this game. Also is Lattimore playing in this game for SC?
