How much does it cost to fix a radiator leak? That's very bad?

I hate to be the one to explain this to you but you cant "fix" a radiator leak by replacing a hose. You have to figure out where the leak is and replace that part appropriately.

If it is a hose, check if it is cracked or if it is a little hole or somthing, sometimes you dont even need a new hose. If it is the hose though, that is cheap and easy to do. (i am betting on it being a hose, since the speed of the failure was so fast. That is cheap and no big deal to fix)

If it is a small hole in the radiator it can be soldered up cheaply. That is an easy way to have it done, so you would be well off getting that done if possible.

If you can switch a radiator yourself, then it is 100 bucks to do or so, but a shop will cost much more, so in that case you should go for solder.

I hope it is just a hose, as that is easy

Replace the hose if that's really the problem souls cost around 20 bucks. If not, try radiator stop leak. Costs about 5 bucks. A new radiator costs around $ 250. Try the hose first though. Don't over heat it by driving it though. A new engine costs 3 grand

Well Travis, depending on which hose it is of if it the radiator itself. I had a recent problem with mine, o thought it was a hose, I changed my hose but realized it was my radiator itself. You can go to your local autoparts dealer, ask for a copper filling liquid which will seal it up for a few monthes, coated usually between 5$ to 10$. If u want more info take it to a radiator shop and ask them to take a look. :) good luck

I agree take it from some who has learned the hard way one of the fastest ways to screw up and engine is overheat it. I tried that stop leak and it's a joke and I heard it can ruin other parts of you cooling system too. JUST BUY A NEW ONE and do it soon or you might need a whole new car.

GO THE CHEAP WAY TO BEST WAY:

I had a leak one time.Somebody told me to put pepper (big flake black pepper) in the antifreeze.

I thought it was a joke but i was desperate and did it.The leak stopped!

Of course i used a screw driver to close the hole a little.

Another time i bought BARS LEAK and it stopped within 10 minutes of driving arround and refilling with water.

But if you can, go to a shop and tell them you only want them to solder the hole for 30.00 bucks.

Or buy a new one for over 200.00 bucks
