    He planned it all along.

First God didn't eat from the forbidden tree Adam and Eve ate. Second Adam was created first, during the whole time that Adam was by himself he didn't eat from the forbidden tree. It was only until Eve came, and she gave in to the deception, it was then that Adam ate, not because he was deceived, but he was afraid of losing Eve. He knew what it was like to be alone. The tree wasn't set up for failure, it was about sovereignty.

Since God is supposed to be omniscient and omnipotent and the creator of all things, I am sure (if he really does exist) that everything goes exactly according to his plan, including the fall of Eden, the flood, the crucifixion, the devil's trickery and everything else. If man has a free will, that is an unpredictable factor which might jeopardise God's plan, but of course God has already planned for that, too, which effectively removes that free will, since, in the long run, God will have his way anyway, irrespective of our personal choices. I'd say we're nothing but God's playthings or maybe just guinea-pigs in his laboratory. If there is a god, that is.

to have free will, Adam and Eve had to eat the fruit, otherwise love would be forced, which is not love at all. God didn't create billions of people just to burn in hell, He has/had a great plan for everyone, we just don't always know or choose to follow Him.

    Yes, you're right.

In addition, if you believe that tale, the deity also put the talking snake there to tempt them.

So, with the entire universe in which to place his tree, the deity plunks it down right there, in front of A&E, with a talking serpent. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what would happen.

You may call it a "set-up", but if "obedience" to the Creators instructions is important, there must be forbidden fruit and freewill to obey or not. Consider the reward given to Jesus for His obedience, even unto death on the cross. All power/authority in heaven and earth, a Name above all names, Highly exalted by His Heavenly Father, made Him to be both Lord and Christ and head of all things to The Church. Faith and obedience are the gemstones of the spiritual treasury.

Oh sure if I invite you over to my house and say "You can have anything in my fridge or cabinets to eat or drink whenever you please just don't eat the piece of fruit I left on the counter." I'm totally setting you up.!!! I mean how evil and bad of me to forbid you from eating one thing out of countless other options. You as a fully competent human being obviously bear no responsibility for your actions. It ws my fault for leaving the fruit on the counter.

It's like putting a piece of steak in front of a dog, telling it not to eat it, leaving the room and coming back, and then beating the dog after it eats it. A perfect being should know better. I'm far from perfect and even I could put that one together.

Exactly, this guy has horrible management skills. Not to mention that he never gave adam and eve the ability to discern right from wrong, so what did he expect to happen? Why would he even start this madness if he already knows the way everything turns out?

    Incompetence.

God gave us loose will. If he had no longer placed the temptation there, that loose will might have been a meaningless present -- how do you chosen wrongly between 2 or 3 reliable issues. Having that tree there permit Adam and Eve choose for between reliable "no longer ingesting from the tree" and evil "ingesting from the tree". a distinctive way of asserting it extremely is selecting between reliable "obeying God" and evil "disobeying God". specific, Adam and Eve felt the guilt at modern-day and coated themselves in shame. yet till they disobeyed God, that they had no reason to sense the guilt or sense shame. inspite of that guilt and shame that we delivered on ourselves, he continues to be there and nevertheless helping us and nevertheless letting us choose for between reliable and evil.

Fruit does not make one aware. You must remain cognizant of the most important fact that none of these strange things regarding the serpent and this tree of the knowledge of good and evil are of God's doing. God hasn't intervened yet.

And if this particular serpent and this particular tree seem to exhibit supernatural characteristics, it is because they are supernatural; satan is a supernatural being possessing supernatural powers of deception. But through the Blood of Jesus Christ we have power to withstand satan, in Adam's and Eve's time this was not so.

Every event, every cause and effect from the time satan first spoke to Eve [Gen 3: 1], until God intervenes and passes punishment on all parties involved in [Gen 3:14-19] is satan's handiwork.

God does however pass judgment and issue penalty for this act.

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent*1, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he*2 was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. (KJV)

Explanations from above verse: *1 that old serpent = This is 'The serpent of old', the same serpent that we are reading of in Genesis. *2 he = We see that the serpent is a 'he', not an 'it'. The serpent is not a garden snake, he is the devil, he is satan himself! that should leave no doubt in your mind that we are talking about satan.

This serpent wasn't some gardener snake, snakes do not have the organs of speech, but satan has the organs to accomplish impregnating Eve with his son Cain. Satan knew that the Messiah Jesus Christ would come through the lineage of Eve. This was the first attempt by satan to destroy the pure seed line that Christ was to come through, umbilical cord to umbilical cord, four-thousand years later.

Satan is fearful of Christ because he knows that it is Jesus Christ who will eventually accomplish casting him into the lake of fire (Hell), which will be his eternal perdition.

2 Cor 11:2-3 (Apostle Paul speaking)

2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent*1 beguiled*2 Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. (KJV)

Explanations from above verse: Remember, we are now in the Greek language of the New Testament: *1 serpent = Greek word # 3789 ophis (of'-is); probably from 3700 (through the idea of sharpness of vision); a snake, figuratively (as a type of sly cunning) an artful malicious person, especially Satan: with the ancients, the serpent was an emblem of cunning and wisdom. The serpent who deceived Eve was regarded by the Jews as the Devil. *2 beguiled = Greek word #1818 "exapatao" (ex-ap-at-ah'-o); To seduce wholly. This was a sexual act. There can be no misunderstanding as to the meaning of what the serpent did to Eve, as there is only one meaning of the word 'expatao' in the Greek language.

Once satan had deceived them "religiously" it was a small thing for him to take all of Eve (sexually). It was through that sexual union that Cain was born. And it was through those false teachings that idolatry away and apart from God was born. That is why God was so upset! It is a shame that even today from the Pulpits of Christendom people are still taught that the order of the world was rocked, and God's wrath was so hotly fired because Adam and Eve ate an apple from the wrong tree!

NOTE: If you are disturbed by the mention of sex in the Bible, then take it up with God. He wasn't disturbed when he had Moses write it. And besides, how do you think you got here? It is that kind of puritanical, hypocritical self-righteousness that has led to the corruption of the Bible, and the blinding of God's perfect truth and Word. Because of this, you have been lied to and were taught that Adam and Eve were munching on the wrong apple.
