The problem with your comparison is that Adam and Eve were not month old babies. They were perfect human adults who knew better. Adam and Eve were created knowing right and wrong. The tree represented God's absolute knowledge of good and evil and it was only his right to determine good and evil for Adam and Eve as humanity progressed and different circumstances arose. Adam and Eve had no right to reach out for that which was not given to them or belonged to them.

God is the Alpha, the Beta and the Omega, correct me If I'm wrong. This should have been long foreseen scenario for Adam and Eve if that were the case. So what ever Adam and Eve did wrong, was nothing new to God and here we are looking for fault in humanity.

no it's not.
it is more like leaving a pre-schooler in a room with a cake on the table and telling them if they don't eat the cake, there will be better rewards after.
the same study was made, and those children who chose to follow ended up being successful in life.

When I was 5 my creepy uncle gave me a very sharp Bowie knife for a birthday present and I cut my hand accidentally. I mean, there was blood all over the place. Then they went and took my knife away from me. Some birthday.

Put yourself in place of them, as a human, could you have decided to eat or not to eat, think about it, and then you have someone outside to influence you; how would you deal with that?

Your Metaphor could not possibly be right! Cat's drink milk! That is so far from the truth! Herman Cain for President! Dude... you really need to read.

the story of genesis would likely be an allegory. the point is that humans sin, and will keep on sinning.
