Could I be a kpop star?

Yeah I know it is not realistic, but what is your opinion? Just as a hypothetical scenario. I know the business would be cutthroat but it doesn't hurt to day dream right?I listen to kpop but also have researched some culture differences.I love the street fashion of Korea.I am asian american. I can sing and am not bad at dancing. I could learn korean. If I had a choreographer I think I'd do alright. I have performed on a stage and in front of audiences. I am skinny and petite. Heels wouldn't be an issue I am short anyways. :p You have to be pale right? I guess I could use creme or whatever idk. :p

What companies would I need to try out for? I know there are auditions this year but I would not be able to make it.

this is me singing. I know its an American song but still.

Update:

btws i don't think id automatically make it haha. and I do have double eyelids.

Woahhh your pretty!!! Well everyone ha a chance to become a kpop idol if they'd tried. Based on your provided youtube videos, i'd say you have a chance, but you might need to work on your vocals/singing a little bit more. It's fine for youtube covers but if you wanted to get accepted + be a traine you might want to find a singing teacher and work on tweaking up your voice a little bit. The best companies to audition for are YG, SM, JYP, Cube, and a few others that google might handle. It's always good to daydream :) Good luck ^__^

you can possibly make it. You can sing too. Your pretty but remember its not always about how you look, its more about talent. If you were to audition, some companies would find looks more important than talent (SM entertainment), some others find talent more important than looks (YG entertainment) ,or some other companies want both a very Pretty and talented artist (JYP entertainment) . People (the public) who listen to music, the majority, find talent more important than looks. So if this is your dream, practice on your voice and then worry on looks because people would like to hear a good song with a good voice. Going into the kpop industry is hard just like it is in any other music industry. To get into the kpop industry and be successful in it, you have to be committed and work hard.

    List of kpop entertainment companies

★SM Ent. (snsd, tvxq, shinee, super junior, Boa, f(X), etc)

★YG Ent. (Big Bang, 2NE1, Se7en, Wheesung, etc)

★JYP Ent. (Wonder Girls, 2AM, 2PM, Rain, etc)

    Sister Companies of JYP Ent:

    ★CUBE Ent. (4Minute, BEAST, G.NA, etc)

    ★DSP Media..Ent. (KARA, Rainbow, SS501, etc)

    ★J.Tune (Rain's company) (Rain, MBLAQ)

    others:

    ★Starship Ent. (K.Will, Sistar, Boyfriend)

★Core Contents Media (Davichi, Seeya, T-ARA)

    ★LOEN Ent. (IU, Zia)

Pledis Ent. (After School, Orange Caramel, etc)

It strongly depends on the company. Everyone knows that everyone aims for SM entertainment which LOOKS come first on the audition. And when you get in, then it goes to your talents. And if you can speak Korean, it's more possible, but if not then you really need something that will really make you stand out. If you absolutely want to get in, you can audition for different fields for example, audition as an actress, dancer, or a model and when you do get in, you can talk to your manager (if you get that far) or the CEO to change your training field. :)

you have a chance, just like everybody else who tries out.

just don't think that you'll make it because you can walk in heels, you have pale skin, that you have double eyelids, or because your skinny & petite * you don't have to have pale skin, bora and hyorin from sistar are pretty tan.* yes some companies look for these sort of things in their trainees but it's not required.

you actually have to have genuine talent & compassion for music

since your "asian american, i don't know if you're korean or not" but YG usually only goes for koreans, SM & JYP usually allow some other asian nationailities.

americans like to tell you to go for it but in reality they dont really care because your failure will not affect them nor they care. There is a true story when bunch of american friends told this girl her singing is good and she should make a CD. She did and only one copy was sold. Apparently one friend brought it and made copies available for others. Read it on FML.

Not a big chance - look at all the other people who have asked this question: over millions and some of them actually do have talent. But did they succeed? No..

So yes, if you are extremely lucky but most likely no.

Source(s): Korean, seen this quesiton be repeated a gazillion times.
