My niece and I want to paint my sons bedroom, however im wondering ( we plan on having his window open and a fan going) if it will harm ( or bug ) my daughter who is sleeping in the room beside my sons room?

You can get low odor paint. My neighbor painted her bedroom with that stuff and was able to sleep in it that very night! They also kept the windows open while painting.

If you have to question it, then the answer should be no. With a husband who is a contractor, logically a child should not be in a home while it is being painted. Low fumes or not, there are still chemicals that are odorless that go into the air. If this is a chance you are willing to take, then go for it. When my children were young, we left when painting was done. Now that they are older, it is fine for us. They can TELL us, if they are having breathing problems, headaches or sinus issues from the paint.

It should be fine. The fan will pull the fumes outside, and latex paint fumes are not much of a problem, anyway, IMO.

But if it worries you, get low VOC paint.

I have had chemical-sensitive asthma all my life, and have been painting almost as long. Never had a problem.

Depends on how old she is. If she's a baby I would paint with her out of the house.
