I have a Gas furnace problem can anyone help?

My natural gas furnace does this: igniter starts, flame comes on, blower comes on. there is a click and flame goes out. About 20 secs later (while blower is still running) igniter starts, flame comes on. stays lite for about 45-60 secs, there is a click, flame goes out. It repeats this cycle over and over. Home does not get even warm. I have read that there is a sensor that might be dirty. I blew the area out with air but no change. Any HVAC guys out there willing to give advice?

Thank you.

Make sure your furnace filter is good and clean.

Flame sensor maybe faulty or needes adjustment n that the pilot light is not hitting it.

    Bad pressure switch

    Verify that

2nd would locate the rubber tube coming off inducer motor pressure switch. Check and inspect for cracks. Note if the furnace is really old the tube may be brittle so use caution when removing.

Next on the inducer motor, with the tube removed, take a paper clip bent straight and stick it in the nipple coming off the inducer motor. It should go in and out smoothly. If not, slide in and out till its free. Reattach tube and check operation.

sounds like the flame sensor rod is dirty or bad. it will be the one that is directly in the flames path when lit. you can take it out and take some steel wool and clean it off. make sure to turn the power off to unit before doing this. if that does not fix it then it could have a bad board.

I agree with first answer-flame sensor or flame rod. Clean it, or replace it. A rod is under 15 dollars. A control board is alot more (over 100 dollars).

Some furnaces do this you have to put up with the clicking but have it checked out.
