Bioshock won't download on my 13 inch macbook pro?
It's taking ridiculously long to download, I've already tried deleting a few programs and moving a large movie file onto my external harddrive but it didn't help it download faster. I just spent 30$ at the apple store to buy Bioshock, did I just waste my money? Or should I invest in more memory for my mac? I don't have any anti virus software programs running right now, so that's not the issue.
It's been over an hour and it's still only at 1%, stuck on "downloading".
I have highspeed internet, and the file is 6.75 GB (not quite as big as 8).
Steam didn't have a Mac version, I just bought it from the Apple App Store. I already have a steam account, if it was on steam I would have got it there. They only had bioshock for PC digital download on steam.
Sorry, I was general about how fast my internet is because it doesn't say specifically how fast it is. I'm not sure how to find that out on a mac because it won't say. Thanks for trying to help, I guess I'm just going to have to be patient and hope everything works because I can finally see the download bar on the game moving pixel by pixel.

Keep in mind if your talking about a digital download. Bioshock is 8gb in file size.
So.... if you have a slow internet connection, expect it to take some time. Especially if your doing other things like watching videos, or using the internet while its downloading.
Also make sure you didn't actually hit "Pause" somewhere.
If its not working, download it on steam if you have the CD Key.
Just Download steam.

Click Games --> activate product on steam --> type in the serial key. And it will download it for you from steam.
Edit:
To be fair anything above 256kb/s is considered "highspeed" internet. So it doesn't mean much.
If you have 256kbs.
You will bw downloading at 32kb/s which means it could take 57.6 hours to complete downloading.
So you should really find out how fast is your internet,instead of te general term. High speed.

I just mentioned Steam because its on sale right now for 33% off. So its only $13. Technicaly the PC key would have worked for Mac.

Creating room on the hard drive won't make the download go any faster. 6.75 GB is a big download which will take some time to download. Activity Monitor's Network tab will show how much data is coming in and how fast, you'll find it in Applications > Utilities folder.

the first thing i would do is go look at them and decide what screen size you want. the 11 inch is small but portable. I have the 11 inch mac air and love it. The only thing I would recommend is IF you decide on the mac book air, upgrade the ram, it's soldered in, so you get what you pay for. The hard drive on the mac book air is a custom configuration. You can buy aftermarket ones from Other World Computing in larger sizes. 11 inch mac air gets warm with prolonged heavy use(think cad) but nothing crazy.
