To Greek Orthodox, I was wondering, do you also see things the way that Zena E Charis χάρις sees things?

I have had a couple of private discussions with her which were somewhat revealing but also revealed more questions. She shared with me that her family were embarrassed by her attacks on the Church and that her husband encouraged her to be more charitable. Certainly it is true that she attacks the Church for some of the very same things that the Greek Orthodox Church teaches and practices which is the case according to the link you provided. It seems that she does this for some hidden agenda that she does not reveal. For some reason she simply hates the Church and/or Catholic Christians and I guess justifies in her mind that bearing false witness is justified. Every time I see her posts I wonder why she is so prejudiced against the Church. I ask that all Catholic Christians pray for our sister that she becomes more forgiving of whatever has hurt her so much. God bless!

I've had e mail contacts with her in the past and have came to the conclusion that she is mentally unstable and i say that not to be insulting but one of concern for her mental health as she is obviously a intelligent person.

Orthodox Christian practice includes many instances of asking the saints to pray for us. In each Divine Liturgy (and the earlier service of Matins/Orthodox) we sing hymns to the saint of the day, which more often than not include a request that the saint pray for us.

A few examples of recent days:

Prophet Zephaniah (OT prophets are saints, too), commemorated Dec 3

"As we celebrate the memory of Thy Prophet Zephaniah, O Lord, through him we beseech Thee to save our souls." [1]

St. John of Damascus, commemorated Dec 4

"Guide of Orthodoxy, teacher of piety and holiness, luminary of the world, God-inspired adornment of monastics, O wise John, by thy teachings thou hast enlightened all, O harp of the Spirit. Intercede with Christ God that our souls be saved." [2]

St. Sava Dec 5

"With the streams of thy tears, thou didst cultivate the barrenness of the desert; and by thy sighings from the depths,thou didst bear fruit a hundredfold in labours; and thou becamest a luminary, shining with miracles upon the world, O Savas our righteous Father. Intercede with Christ God that our souls be saved." [3]

St. Nicholas Dec 7

"The truth of things hath revealed thee to thy flock as a rule of faith, an icon of meekness, and a teacher of temperance; for this cause, thou hast achieved the heights by humility, riches by poverty. O Father and Hierarch Nicholas, intercede with Christ God that our souls be saved." [4]

Funerals, ordinations, weddings, church consecrations -- all invoke the intercession of the saints. The services of Small and Great Paraklesis are explicitly designed as a way for believers to beseech the saint (often the Virgin Mary) to pray for us.
