Three times a bridesmaid, never a bride...and seven times, you break the curse?

Yes, I know - superstitions aren't real. :) But I'm curious, particularly as I am about to be a bridesmaid for the 7th time. Is this the way the superstition goes?

My husband was a GM 10 times LOL! I often joked with him "always a GM ,..."

Anyway, superstition are just that, superstitions! And the fact that you have been a BM 7 times means that you are very well liked and have many friends that love you an appreciate you.

Your time will come, don't worry

I've never actually heard of this being a superstition, only of it being a saying for "spinsters".

I did some internet research as well and couldn't find any saying along those lines...HOWEVER I did find a footnote on wedding superstitions and though it isn't actually a saying it does say being a bridesmaid 7 times will break the bad luck.

    I found this on Snopes - http://www.snopes.com/weddings/customs/bridesmaid....

I'd never heard the "seven times breaks the curse" thing, but apparently they had!
