Why is it when you say something truthful on here you get more thumbs down?

its like you are afraid of someone using some rational thinking.

like when someone says God is a baby killer and he DID tell people to kill women, children, and babies along with the men of his enemies in the old testament they get a bunch of thumbs down...why? why does it hurt your feelings when someone tells the truth?

Christians are censors. That's just the way they are.

The fun part is where the Believers insist that the God of the Old Testament is not a baby killer, since the Old Testament reports the drowning of al the babies on Earth, and any firstborn baby son in Egypt.

And then they claim that, because Jesus didn't kill any babies, we should not bring up the previous atrocities committed by the Father. (But, Jesus says "The Father and I are ONE." So if Jesus isn't ashamed of what the Father did, He is an accessory to each atrocity.)

Thumbs, up or down, are not as important as the facts.

And there are only two choices: God killed babies, or the reports of events in the Bible are not true.

That's where being a member of a non-Abrahamic religion might seem more attractive. You don't need to explain away several piles of dead babies.

Atheism works, too. No God = no God killing babies.

When we mistake truth for Truth we always get the wrong response no matter the context of our declaration. If we cannot tell the difference can we expect to understand how the response arises? Even when the response arises from the same mistaken idea about what is True we cannot grasp the difference from the ego/mind level of awareness. It cannot discern spiritual things at all. The struggle between all the different outlooks and opinions in the world is all outlooks and opinions appear true from where they are being seen from. Change the place from what you are seeing and the view changes completely. So long as we are unable to move from one point of view to another we imagine we are seeing it correctly. Remember the four blind men who were describing an elephant? They were all telling the truth and yet they all disagreed with the other.

You only see a tiny piece of the picture and imagine you comprehend the Whole. That comprehension comes only when you see the Whole of It.

The Bible, especially the Old Testament is full of violence and a cavalier attitude towards basic human rights and decency....there is no denying that; but I also think that the Bible is not purely truthful in that there was much editing by the religious authorities of the time who had their own reasons and sometimes distortions on the interpretation of events. Why people give TDs to people who genuinely question and challenge with rational thinking is because they are brainwashed from early on that the Bible is "holy," a scared tome with ultimate authority of the truth. It hurts their feelings beyond their own understanding because it is on such a deep and subconscious level.

The Thumbs are there to allow people quick way to summarize their opinion of an answer. That's why the site tallies ups and downs and shows both of them; to let the asker and other answerers see the concensus of each answer. That's what this website is all about; multiple people sharing their ideas and answers. The ones that most people agree with get more approval, and the ones people see as false or incorrect do not.

People thumb other people down for these reasons.

    1. There opinion is different

    2. Something they don't like has been said

    3. Someone said something insulting.

    4. To be a jerk.

    5. Just cause they can.

I think it is mostly for the 1st option.

i think of it must be that there are different rules to examine by using, and according to threat many think of of the thumbs down selection as something to point they disagree with the suggestion or the opinion. i will apply it to a troll or on suggestion that i know must be quite risky, like telling someone who if a canines is throwing up blood on Friday, and can't raise that is head, wait till Monday and take it to the Vet and interior the period in-between supply it some aspirin. on an identical time, i think of it facilitates to bear in strategies that because of the fact somebody has a different attitude does not lead them to "incorrect" and the different individual "magnificent". Many questions and solutions on listed under are subjective.

Prove to me God said that. God never did. When we tell you that truth, you say we are lying. You don't know God,so don't speck for God or us! God will tell you fools his truth, when you fools stop telling God your truth...fair enough?God isn't a religion either and when I tell you all this,I get thumb down for truths on both sides of the track. So what grow up and stop following the black sheep. You are all the exact same, even copy off each other, nothings Original and why are you alone doing this on a sat night? ALONE.....Learn something constructive or remain ignorant your whole worthless life...

People get a thumbs down when they say that God deals with people the same way He did during the Old Testament. He does not. We are under a New Testament now since Jesus became our Savior.

Perhaps the thumbs down is related to the way you have expressed the answer. It is reasonable to be offended when someone intends to be offensive. For instance, if I said you are stupid for believing the sun is hot, you would be offended. If I said you are observant for believing the sun is hot, you would be complimented. It is difficult to insult someone without them knowing it.

Actually I think you need to watch the way you actually put things. You can be objective, negative, arrogant, within an intellectual way. Basically, politely put in a rational perspective without brutal methods. LOL...

Personally I'm not complaining, but there are those...............
