How do I ask a coworker out?

I work for a very large company, and my department sometimes does business with another department who she works for. How do I ask her out on a personal level without making it too awkward for anyone?

say "hey, would you like to get some coffee/lunch some time?" if she says no then don't get mad or discouraged...that would make it awkward.

This is how I do it. I will bring up a popular place that people like to go to that you need reservations or a ticket for. Then I will say have you been yet. If she says no or yes but not lately tell her you have a free ticket if she would like to go. Even if you don't have the ticket just tell her that then get it later. This may seem like a common trick but it does work.

start with the simple tell her to go to lunch with you :)

That is nothing arkward. And then you simply get her number and start talking to her more and more :)

Good luck and Happy New Year :)
