My 8 week old puppy might have parvo, can it be cured and treated if caught early?

My 8 week old german shepherd puppy might have parvo. She got up a lot last night to go to the bathroom, especially to go poop. As far as behavior she was fine early today but towards the middle of the day we found mucus in her poop and towards the evening she became lethargic and did not want to eat. It is too late to take her to the vet now but we are taking her as soon as it opens tomorrow morning. My mom thinks she might have parvo because she is showing symptoms for it, but could it be something else? If it is parvo will she be likely to survive because we caught it early? She is up to date on all of her shots and everything so I just don't understand how she could have caught parvo other than the fact that we have other dogs and she did drink out of their water dishes and things like that.

Update:

We've had her for 2 weeks (so since she was 6 weeks old)

Update 2:

My mom said she did vomit but I don't know how many times. I just took her outside to use the bathroom and her stool was at a normal firmness, but had a mucus coating. She's normally very playful but for the past 6 hours or so all she wants to do is sleep.

If she's vaccinated, it's highly unlikely it's Parvo. Diarrhea is common when puppies go to their new homes. They're stressed and usually a little nauseous from traveling.

It is possible though, and yes, caught early and given intensive hospital care, the chance for survival is about 80%. It's expensive though. You'll be spending about $1000-$1700.

There are cheaper, at home treatments, but it's not as effective. About a 50/50 shot at survival.

How long have you had her? She's probably covered under the breeder's health guarantee. Of course, that means sending her back to the breeder for treatment, I don't know how you feel about that.

I have bought several pups at 8 weeks and never did any excessive measures to prevent diseases. My pups went out in public, walking and went to Puppy Kindergarten Classes. Many breeders take pups to dog shows when young as well. Personally I probably would avoid dog shows and dog parks with an under 4 mos old pup but the most disease filled enviroment is the vet's. BTW, a person can bring home many dog diseases, including Parvo, on their shoes plus intestinal worms and ringworm. And not letting your pup outside until 4 mos is a great way to not be able to housebreak it. Unless a diseased wormy dog has pooped on your lawn your lawn is fine. I do rescue and we have raised several litters w/o problems and I have brought in many dogs with kennel cough and never had my dogs catch it either.

parvo is a 50/50 disease. Sometimes the dog can be on the verge of death and pull thru but sometimes the dog can seem fine and die. It just depends on the pups willingness. I worked at a vet clinic where we treated the dogs and sent them home with antinausea meds and an electrolyte solution. We sent a dog home once that seemed to be doing pretty good and a few hours later she came back in shock. You just need to get your pup to the vet and pray he is going to get better.

    Hi

Has she vomited, had diarrhoea or been lethargic? If it is Parvo, yes it can be treated, although it is very expensive from what I've heard.

    Hope I helped :)

I hope she will be fine :)
