What anime from the last season would you recommend?

If you like slice of life series you might like Kimi to Boku. It's about guys instead of girls and there is absolutely no yaoi involved.

Mashiro-Iro Symphony was kind of cute if you go for the high school/tsundere/love triangle series.

I also agree that Ben-to was rather unique and worth a look.

These are the animes I really enjoyed watching this past season

-Un-Go -- A detective anime set in a future Japan that has been ravaged by war and terrorism.

-Mirai Nikki -- A battle between 12 diary holders to become the next god.

-Fate/Zero -- A battle between seven magicians and their servants (famous heroes from the past) for the Holy Grail that can grant any wish (this is also the prequel to Fate/Stay Night)

-Mawaru Penguin Drum -- A girl with a terminal illness is saved from death, but in exchange, her brothers were ordered to find an item called the Penguin Drum (This one was actually 2 seasons so it's 24 episodes, but it just recently ended)

I also really liked Guilty Crown even though it's still ongoing (it's supposed to have 22 episodes). It's about a boy who, through certain circumstances, gained an extraordinary power that allowed him to extract tools and weapons from other people. And he eventually joins a terrorist group called the "Funeral Parlor" whose aim is to liberate Japan. (It has a lot of action and just the right amount of romance)

Mawaru Penguindrum was an excellent fall/winter show this year! i highly rec it!

Future Diary / Mirai Nikki is also lovely, i am a huge fan of the manga, and i'm excited it finally got an anime adaption.

If you like slice-of-life, Yuru Yuri was a decent s.o.l. show from this season.

Tiger & Bunny was also wonderful. technically a spring anime, but excellent all the same :)
