How Can I Write A Funny Fanfic?
I normally only write depressing or kind of dark fanfics but I've got this idea for a funny Fullmetal Alchemist fanfic. The trouble is I don't really know how to write humor. The fanfic is about (for those of you who know the show) Olivier Armstrong get's saddled with Elicia Hughes but she's determined not to act motherly towards her because she's Olivier and she's not motherly towards anyone. Her plan is to turn Elicia into the perfect Briggs Solider
Anyways do you have any tips for me about writing humor?

I'm like you! I also typically write darker stuff, and adjusting to humor is a bit hard when you've been used to the exact opposite. I would suggest writing it out first, with whatever jokes you can think of, and then having several friends read over, preferably people who also found FMA hilarious. Don't force any jokes--only use the ones that come naturally or without much deep thought or grumbling. Keep the two of them in character, because, frankly, this sound hilarious just in my head! The thought of Olivier with a little girl like that makes me smile.
Just be natural, take it one step at a time, and you'll do fine! Oh, and put up the link when you put this on FanFiction.net, I'm looking forward to reading it!
