Why do athiests focus on Christianity?

I think it is because most atheists live in predominantly Christians countries/communities. They have more experience interacting with Christians compared to Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, etc.

The Christians are the ones causing the trouble (I know this because i was raised as a Catholic and have witnessed the hardcores, or even the semi-hardcores)

You don`t see any Jewish or Muslim people on here preaching to everyone that they`re burning in Hell if they dont start believing in their God, or at least not many. If Christians respected atheists, then I`m sure atheists would respect the Christians (not counting the few idiots in each group)

If you haven`t noticed, Christians target the atheists and atheists target the Christians, its a mutual hate on this site. I personally prefer believing in my own thing, not what some ancient book tells me.

some have had a bad experience with Christianity or so called Christians. Christianity is a great target for hurt people or others who lack the understanding that a few bad apples do not mean all are the same. There also reasons for assumptions based on misbeliefs. This based on a lack of full understanding as well.

Why do christians focus on atheists? There are other religions as well.

It's a two way street. We focus on the ones who focus on us. Nobody else really ives a damn.

Christianity is the most popular religion the world that people are familiar with. It is is a religion of negativity and puts fear in your heart. ( If you don't do..............you a doomed to go to hell.) Hell is a frightening place. Therefore,, the focus is on Christianity.

Also rather than explore other religions, they'd rather have none.

Because that's the religion that most atheists come in contact with. If you were allowed to be an atheist in Muslim countries you'd have a lot focusing on Muslims.

I mean there are other religions but Christianity is only the largest and most widespread religion in the world.

I mean there are other 'non-believers'.

I did when I lost faith, now I mostly focus on correcting misconceptions about atheism on yahoo answers. I don't really think about Christianity much, off of this board.
