Jehovah's Witnesses: What has the invisible (1914) return of Christ, done for planet earth?

I mean, such a ruler-ship would have a profound impact on the way the planet operates and the people in it...wouldn't you think?

Still, since 1914, we've seen the Bolsheviks, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, all the gulf wars, and now a possible war with Iran. Economic collapse in Iceland, Greece, and now perhaps the collapse of the Euro. So, what has Christ been doing with this earthy rule, and will we ever see any impact and or evidence?

What has Christ's invisible rule done for you personally?

Update:

Looking over some of the responses...I'd haven't realize that this was an "ignorant, twisted view" question. Was it too much to ask that an invisible Christ, with an invisible presence (ruling invisibly) would produce an invisible result? A thinking person might say something doesn't add up here, and be scratching their heads. Is it really that wrong to hold the only channel to God accountable to what ANY group could have said based on this assumption? Sure, we're in the last days...have been since the writings of Heb. 1:2, but to equate the "birth pains" in Matt. 24 as proving rulership by one authority (and the students who follow it) as the only explanation...and anyone with a different view is..."twisted," well, let the Bible reader decide for themselves.

As far as spending more time in the Bible...reading it...as opposed to reading what others say it's saying...I couldn't agree more. The Bible talks about "every eye seei

Update 2:

As far as spending more time in the Bible...reading it...as opposed to reading what others say it's saying...I couldn't agree more. The Bible talks about "every eye seeing him" (Rev. 1:7) and the "kingdoms of this world, becoming the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ," (Rev. 11:15.) Could this be the missing piece in the puzzle as to why a heavenly rule is not the same as an earthly one? But the idea was (originally) sold as an earthly one...right?

But as one poster put it: "What absolutely confirms that Christ's "return" was to be invisible is that every explicit Scripture shows that Christ now has an invisible spirit body rather than a physical one." Only if you're reading out-of-context every "other" scripture on this subject. Christ was "flesh and bone." Ate food before his disciples several times: Was seen of Stephen before his stoning (Acts 7:55-56), was never called Michael after his accession; an

Update 3:

and John describes his physical form in Rev. 1:13-17.) And he "saw" him (v17)...how can you see something that's invisible?

No, I disagree...this is an honest Q, surrounding the idea, of whether we are reading our Bibles...or is someone else...doing the reading and thinking for us? What has the invisible return done for you? For Witnesses that lived before your time? For those of us that can't see it...maybe a personal testimony will help...?

Wow, it's such a good thing that God made Tartus so that in 1914 he could clean up heaven and it's such a good thing that Jesus woke up and did this for him. I am so glad that Jesus turned his attention towards us here on earth. He has done so much for us, invisibly of course, so we're unable to see what he has done. I think this is\where they come up with their Faith in him, because that can't see it. They have to have complete faith that he is directing his only true channel, here on earth because you can't see what is being done. But it is! Of course they have a bridge to sell you, it's invisible but it's a dandy at the best price in town. All it cost is your soul! What a buy!

I just got a quick question, how long is these last days going to last? I mean it's been going on for over a hundred years now. I mean since 1874, then changed to 1914 in 1933 then later changed to his presence on earth was really his attention was turned to Earth in 1914, yea that will work. Sure, yea turned his attention, OK, I gullible, I can buy into this fairytale story.

Why don't you continue, Jesus is not done telling us of the sign, just because you wish to stop there to make a point doesn't make it so. Continue please! Matthew 24: 8 and more

Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

    SO..... Jesus says...

15 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’[a] spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.

22 “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. 23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.

So false messiahs and prophets will "appear: with maybe the cloak of invisibility? But still Jesus is not done telling us what the sign will be yet, so further we go.

26 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather. (WBTS)

29 “Immediately after the distress of those days

    “‘the sun will be darkened,

    and the moon will not give its light;

the stars will fall from the sky,

and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’[b]

    THEN-=--THEN

30 “Then will appear the SIGN of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth[c] will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.[d] 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

Makes a whole different understanding if you use the whole verse instead of picking what you want to make your message. Poor usage of God's words!!!!

You guys just love to make Jesus out to be a liar in Luke 24:39 39 Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.”

Jesus raised as a spirit creature, evidenced throughout the Bible, only in the misguided minds of the delusional!

According to Watchtower interpretation there are also 133,000+ or - 11,000 or so, of a total 144,000 that became new powerful spirit creatures, by being resurrected to heaven at their deaths, the majority of them between 1879 and 1935.

Of course no one can vouch for any of this, they offer no solid proof from the bible, just conjecture and surmise. It is funny that they now take a firm stand against expecting, predicting, prophesying, about when the end is coming, even using scripture that says 'nobody knows the day or the hour', yet they stake their entire religious dogma on speculation first derived from the spiritualist practice of measuring the pyramids of Egypt, to come up with 'the day' of Christ's kingdom established. Just how can they reconcile Jesus own warning about doing just what they have done.

The reason they could not abandon that year 1914 is that they had put all their eggs in that one basket, it was to late to far gone to back down and admit, that like every other date they have set, they were wrong. This date will spell the end of their organization within a few short years. They have already removed all assurances that the generation the bible mentions is not what they thought it was.

I find it amazing that anybody on earth, JW or not would believe that Jesus Christ, a loving, perfect, and engaged ruler, would just sit around after being enthroned for over 100 years and do absolutely nothing to change mankind. It seems makes no sense.

Because the Watchtower society claims this is an invisible presence, they really can get away with this belief, since it can't be proven either way, but i predict that as the years advance, the Org will have no choice but to discard this belief, as it will not longer be sustainable.

If they do not discard this belief, they run the risk of having most of the JWs that have half a brain leave the organization, leaving only the truly completely indoctrinated ones, who in reality would believe anything that is told to them.

    Greetings,

Wow, sometimes I can’t believe the great amount of ignorance shown in such questions! But then, this questioner and the answerers supporting his twisted view are just fulfilling Bible prophecy (Mt.24:39; 2Pt.3:3,4; Jd 1:18).

The Witnesses view of Christ’s invisible presence in kingdom authority as occurring in 1914 is in complete harmony with what the Bible’s teaches. You people should spend a little more time reading God’s Word and less time criticizing those who do!

The parallel accounts of Mat.24:3ff, 2Tim.3:1-5 and Rev.12:7-12 all directly answer your question.

Revelation says: “Now is come the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ” we will see unprecedented “Woe” for the earth because Satan is thrown to the earth. This period of great troubles are described in the other scriptures. All of the events and attitudes are negative except one. There would also be an unprecedented preaching of the Good News as a means of salvation and also warning to the obdurate.

From the Bible we know that Christ’s “return” would be invisible and that True Worshipers would be able to confidently discern that time period while the obdurate would “take no note” and even claim that things are continuing as always.

Both the chronology of Daniel pinpointing 1914 and the events foretold prove that Christ began his parousia and took up his kingdom power in 1914. Jesus gave a "sign" that would be made up of 39 different facets or events (Mt.24; Mk.13; Lk.21; Cf. 2Tim.3:1-5; 2Pt.3:3, 4; Rev.6:1-8; 11:18; 12:10-12).

All the facets would be things that would have global impact and would be like a "beginning of labor pangs" signaling a beginning of "woes for earth" which would get worse as time went on and not cease until the end.

It is clear that all 39 facets have been fulfilled since 1914.

    “Nation Will Rise Against Nation”

“World War I ushered in the century of Total War, of—in the first full sense of the term—global war....Never before 1914-1918 had a war...covered so large a part of the earth....Never had the slaughter been so comprehensive and indiscriminate.”—WWI, H. Baldwin.

World War I killed 14 million combatants and civilians; World War II killed 55 million. Since World War II hundreds of coups, rebellions, and wars have taken the lives of some 35 million people.

The Worldwatch Institute states: "Three times as many people fell victim to war in [the last 100 years] as in all the wars from the [previous 2000 years]."

    "There will be food shortages."

Despite the fact that the world produces, many times over, enough food to feed all earths population, almost one fifth of the world's population suffer chronic hunger.

Today hunger is so common it’s not even news worthy.

...and in one place after another pestilences..."

At the end of World War I, in one year the Spanish influenza alone killed more than the war did. No recorded pestilence has ever equaled the Spanish influenza of 1918-1919. It struck at least 500 million persons; over 30 million died.

Since then, pestilence and diseases have continued to kill.

One official document states: "Twenty well-known diseases have reemerged, often in more virulent and drug-resistant forms. At least 30 previously unknown diseases have been identified since 1973 for which no cures are available."

From 1914 onward, ALL the facets of the “sign” in Christ’s prophecy have escalated to an unprecedented degree worldwide. No other time in history has seen all these things come on one generation in such overwhelming measure. All of this proves beyond any doubt that since 1914 the world has entered its time of the end! If the events since 1914 do not fulfill the sign, what more is required? Without a doubt, we live at the time of Jesus’ “presence” in Kingdom power.

Those who question the fact that we are in the last days are like a woman in her ninth month questioning whether she is pregnant!!

What absolutely confirms that Christ's "return" was to be invisible is that every explicit Scripture shows that Christ now has an invisible spirit body rather than a physical one.

1Pet.3:18 says "He was put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit." Jesus is no longer "flesh," he is an invisible spirit being.

    (1Cor.15:45,50, cf. 1Cor.15:35-49; Cf. 2Cor.5:1-4, 2Pt.1:13-14).

1Tim.3:15-16 Again, parallel statements: Just as he was "flesh" on earth then he was also "spirit" in heaven.

Heb. 1:3 Jesus is now "the exact representation of [God's] very being." God is a Spirit and has never been flesh.

Mt.25:31: If Jesus were flesh, he would be lower in station than the angels (Heb.2:7-9, Phil.2:7-10). Therefore, he will never be flesh again.

Thus, without question, Christ is an everlasting spirit. Not flesh, in any sense, but simply a spirit, just as God himself and the angels are.

    Yours,

    BAR-ANERGES

It has done a house cleaning in heaven. No longer would Satan and his rouge angels be allowed there to pollute God's residence. This is seen from Revelation:

": Mi′cha‧el and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled 8 but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. 9 So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.......12 On this account be glad, YOU heavens and YOU who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to YOU, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.” (Rev. 12:8-9, 12)

Since 1914, things have gotten worse for the earth. Satan got kicked out down to around the earth. Knowing he has lost and just killing time until Jehovah orders his armies into action. This would upset anybody. It has made him more crazy mad. We notice history before and after 1914. Those who can't conceive of life less than twenty years ago, will need a great attitude adjustment.

Before 1914, few people ever used locks on their doors. Yes there were wars, earthquakes, food shortages, all the things we have today. Only these things were not as frequent nor as massive as after 1914. For instance in wars, the habit of many battles were for observers (ordinary citizens) to come out on the side lines with a picnic lunch to watch the battle. Much like whenever something happens today as a crime or accident, people gather with their cellphones. Not to call for help, but to use their cell cameras. Now, no one would ever think of having a picnic in the middle of a war zone. All these things point to a drastic change after 1914.

Earthquakes in the 9.0+ range were considered once in a century deals. Last year we had 4 in secession.

    Hi General,

He came back in 1874 according to the teachings of Charles Taze Russell. It was the second President Rutherford of the WTBTS that shifted it to 1914. This is just another "New Light" fallacy set in motion by false prophets. Nothing more. Please do not blame Jesus for the deceptions of a group claiming to be something they obviously are not.

For the seven JW'S that felt it necessary to down thumb the truth, maybe you should ask one of your more honest Elders if what I've stated here is true or not. And if you really have some spiritual fortitude you could actually check the history yourself, and then you'll actually know what I wrote is truth. Remember truth sets people free...why do you stay in bondage to falsehoods and deceptions? Because you yourself choose to do so. It's part of your history, so why hide it in ignorance.\\Please keep keep all those down thumbs coming. Maybe if you get another thousand or two in your favor it will make those false prophesies true! Nope, don't think so.

No one knows when Christ will return and he will come visible NOT invisible, everyone will see him. see Matthew 24:24-42.

God has spoken to us in these last days by his son Jesus. See Hebrews 1:1-2

It does NOT say God has spoken to us in these last days by the Jehovah Witness nor the Watchtower, nor their founder Charles Taze Russell.

Gods Word the Bible does warn us about False Prophesy. A Prophesy that does not come true is a false prophet and God has not spoken to them.

    See Jeremiah 14:14, Deuteronomy 18:22, Matthew 7:15, Matthew 24:24

Those who confess Jesus did not come in the flesh

is a deceiver and an antichrist see 2 John 1:7

    2 John 1:7 KJV

For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

"While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?” (...) “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress" (Matthew 24:3,7,8).

Everything is invinsible as also their new lites. Leave them alone for operating in the dark.

I thought they misread the miracles at Fatima in 1917. They should have zeroed that in and they could be credible by now.

Or have you heard the Faithful Discreet Slaves are now non-existence and not true, due to the australian child molestation court cases. Now, that is visible.
