    It certainly appears that way, and part of the cause of the problem might be remedied if the agents understood their policies. This department costs us over 43 BILLION dollars a year to operate. Old ladies, breast feeding women, items stolen from locked suitcases (look it up) and now, a US Senator detained while in route to a vote in Washington. Who is profiling these people? Perhaps, Senator Paul's recent detainment will turn out to be a blessing after all.

  • No. They have very little power, other than to determine who gets on an airplane. I think their systems are poorly thought out, but that is not a reflection of their 'power', it's a reflection of their competency.

    Seen any planes landing in buildings in the last 10 years?

    I think they are for the most part getting it right.

    I think their policies and methods are misguided and do not make air travel safer.

    They also have some employees who should not be working at those jobs.
