Dog hurt his back leg?

Last night i let my dog (dachshund) inside and noticed he was limping very badly on his back leg. I tried to look at it and he started yelping when i tried looking at it. I tried to take him for a walk like I do every morning, but he was whining and yelping so I couldnt even do that. He won't even move from under the chair now. Im not sure what happened to his leg either. Any idea of what might be wrong?

He's 6 years old, by the way.

Update:

I know dacshunds are prone to back injuries so do you think that could be the case?

sometimes the hip gets displaced and needs to be popped back in
