Whenever I buy strawberries my cats rub up against them and act as if they just got catnip.?

Does anyone know if strawberries are in the same family as catnip? Does anyone have a cat/cats who act the same way?

CATNIP isn't the only vegetation that can get a cat excited. There are any number of Prairie weeds that my cats (and the dog) love to roll around in.

Some common grasses can have the same effect on animals.

Not sure. But do not let the cat eat the leaves or stem, etc. They can have a little nibble of the fruit. Some cats eat fruit.

My cat had a random piece of wood it used to rub against and didn't want to leave alone, so maybe. Maybe he/she just likes the smell.

Maybe they just like the smell? My kittens live the smell of blackberries, is it the same scent as one of your bath products? Maybe that's why.
