If Christ is the one true god, why isn't he part of the first religion? Religions have been dated to have been around since around 5000 BCE, and that's just recorded history. Before language was created, people were worshiping animals such as cows, among other things. Using this information, the modern religions are no where near the first religions. Did god just fold his arms and just so happen to show himself at the turn of the millennium 2,000 years ago? A few thousand years after language was developed? 4,540,000,000 years after the Earth was created?
Another thing. Why isn't it just ONE religion? Instead, we have numerous religions that just so happen to revolve around certain cultures and societies. IE: Western world is christian/catholic/protestant/etc, mid east is mainly Islamic, countries such as India are hindu, ETC ETC. So many religions. All of which with different views. If one was correct, that would mean all the rest are wrong. Here's the thing: Everyone thinks the same about their religion as you do of yours, so thinking you're right does't actually make you right.
Here is a great argument from Richard Dawkins: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKGtcVoBhBQ&list=FL...
What this argument tells us, is that your religion only depends on where in the world you reside. Watch the video if you don't understand. As stated above, if one was correct, then all the rest are wrong, so having a strong faith or belief in your religion doesn't actually show it's credibility. Since every person of every religion faces "experiences with god x", IF one religion was correct, this means that those "experiences" are really not from god. It doesn't matter how much you believe a certain instance's only explanation is god, the above statement contradicts that logic. Now lets make a picture of this. Person 1 believes in God x. Person 2 believes in God y. They both have a car wreck. Both people come out with no injuries. They both say that it was a "miracle from god. There is no other explanation." The problem, however, is that IF one of the two gods were real, that would mean that the other person's experiences weren't really from god, but rather a coincidence or the product of an excessively imaginative mind.

we're all born atheists within the experience that we do not feel in some thing besides consuming after we are born. It is most often at an excessively younger age that a few inspiration of God is announced and repeatedly compelled upon us. i assume the extra correct query is why do atheists revert again to being atheists regardless of being bombarded with faith such a lot? No subject how intricate an reply any person offers, the sensible reply on your query is that someplace alongside the road they got here to the belief they didn't feel. Some have attempted to feel. Some are very strongly in opposition to faith. It does now not must be established on good judgment, even though so much atheists will say that it's. Humans have a tendency to feel or disbelieve after which use anything arguments aid anything their offerings are.

Maybe it is too late to answer, but I have just started about this kind of things. As for your question, Stefan, ''you said what if there is not God?''. I would like to answer your question by asking a quesiton '' Would it be meaningful if everybody could see God?'' I mean what is the point of using our brain? What is the point of being examined by God? If everybody could know that there is a God, each person had had to worship but it would be pointless to have a brain to search for true.
My another answer to you: What if you are looking for the right thing in the wrong path? I think this is the main point for you. As far as I understood, your religion doesn't seem convincing to you. That's right, the Bible is deformed since you can understand that easily from contradictions in the Bible. You can understand that from the pastors that converted to Islam. I can show and tell you a lot of things that seem impossible but came true; in daily life and in Qur'an. For example, Our Holy Book can not be doformed as God pledged to us that '' We gave the Qur'an; of course we will defend it'' You can not see this pledge for other books. We have 1400-year Qur'an ( Owner of this Qur'an Uthman (r.a) who was killed while reciting Qur'an and even his blood on the Qur'an you can see that in Istanbul) exactly the same today's Qur'an.This is just one out of thounds.

You should evaluate the evidence available to you in a calm, rational, objective manner and then go with whatever conclusion you reach thereby (tentatively, with the understanding that new evidence could change that conclusion).

Ask God if He exists.
This is an important question, so you need to make the right decision.
There are lots of reasons to believe the Bible is reliable.
Many people have stories of having seen hell due to a near death experience
and not being "in Christ" at the time - I even know 2 of them.
Personally, I kept asking God about this until I got an answer. I was not crazy enough to keep
doubting after the kind of answers I received.
This has to be your own decision though. In the end this is about you and God, not what happened to other people. Having been in your situation however, I would advise you to keep praying to God about this and asking Him to help you believe. Only HE can show you the Truth.
Keep going after it.

Fear is a powerful weapon to control people. Almost every religion has hell. What if christianity is wrong and islam is correct, then you're going to hell. One way or the other you're going to hell. Do not be deceived. Once again, fear is a powerful way to control people. It's your choice. The bible has alot of contradictions, once you find these contradictions, you will realize the bible is fallible and primitive. Also, the dominance of the science community is atheist, so the intelligent people of today's society are more likely to be an atheist. Why? They find faults in religion.
It ain’t those parts of the Bible that I can’t understand that bother me, it is the parts that I do understand.

It’s very simple.
If you believe there is a deity then you are a theist.
If you do not you are an atheist.
If you are not sure you are agnostic.
Hope this helps

you should be an atheist. we won't judge you, but rather welcome you with open arms. the sooner you become one, the sooner you'll begin enjoying life for what it is, rather than working toward a mystical place, in which you have doubts about. you'll begin to develop a more worldly character, free of closed-minded arrogance and be a better person for it.
