is my new cat pregnant?

Question

I took in a new cat she has warmed up to being here and warmed up to my dogs, but she went in the basement and after that we have kept the basement door closed to keep her from going back down, but now she will go to the basement door everyday and start meowing and trying to scratch through the door ill end up letting her down there and she will stay down there for hours and hours and will only come up to eat then she goes right back down there, do you think she may have had kittens down there hid?? Please advice

I will do that next time also Sophie is a calico as well. :)) I've also checked her nipples but they're very small and I couldn't get anything out of them, Idk if cats nipples swell up like a dogs does or what..

It's possible that she may have had a litter of kittens. When you have the door closed next time and she scratches at it, open it and follow her down and see where she goes. It sounds like she did have a litter but there is no way of knowing unless you go and investigate.
My Calico did the same thing in the garage and next thing you know she had 5 kittens,

If she was pregnant you would have known... There's no hiding it unless maybe she's a long haired cat?  
If she has teats present then she could be pregnant or just had them... So be sure to check.. But if she is still pregnant then she'll be nesting down there, they would give birth where its dark and safe and out the way of everything. Gooduck! X
