How do you ensure your indoor cat has enough exercise?

How much time do you spend each day excercising your cat, what do you do, and how does the cat feel about it? Is it working well for you?

Update:

I have two cats, both indoor cats. Both are trained on a harness and leash and walk with us every day for at least 1/2 hour. Inside they have a long play tunnel, and outside they have a safe cat enclosure 21m x 2m x 2.2m, so really they have pretty good conditions. But my thought with this question was to possibly discover new good idea about cat exercise.

The solution is to get another kitty! They'll give each other plenty of exercise and all the stimulation they need. They'll still want to look outside, so make sure they have places where they can see out the windows, but they won't be deprived if they can't go out there.

You might also consider getting your kitty (or kitties) used to a harness and leash, so you can take them outside in safety. But still get another kitty. Two is much better than one - you'll see!

Well my cats are allowed out when ever they wan they have a cat flap but I still play with them and I think the evening is when there most playful and excited :") but indoor cats make sure they have places to climb scratch and throw toys around for them get one of those cat toys that's on a stick my cats LOVE them :)

  • Every time I have a few minutes or while i'm watching tv, I grab the laser light. He will chase it til he tires out. I also have a little stuffed mouse on a string. I hold it above him and move it around in circles while he chases it. My Linx Loves the play time.. He never goes outside and is very happy. :)
