You are mental. The theory of the big bang is based on an explosion that can only likely happen once every trillion years. A oil tanker blowing up wont make the milky way. Also dogs dont have the genes to be a cat so you do not understand genetics either. But you have an 8th grade education so you must know something. Of course you are not a monkey. Scientists say that monkeys and humans have a common ancestor not technically that we were once monkeys. Experts say that there was no explosion; there was (and continues to be) an expansion. Rather than imagining a balloon popping and releasing its contents, imagine a balloon expanding: an infinitesimally small balloon expanding to the size of our current universe. Evolution is a small change happening over millions of years...... no human could simply be born as a fish, nor a dog a cat. I AM in 8th grade science and I know more than you, you inconsiderate twit.

I get the distinct feeling this is more of a dig at Christianity in the disguise of a criticism of atheism.

The field of apologetics is much deeper than this question implies. There are many websites that offer reasonable explanations for both sides of the story.

In my experience, however, it always comes down to a simple question. If you believe in God, you will accept the most logical answer which is creation. If you are determined not to believe in God, you will accept any other explanation of origins, regardless of likelihood or unexplained mechanisms. I doubt any atheist will deny that his or her disbelief in God is strongly linked to their faith in evolution.

As far as the " harsh, vengeful hand of god will eternally torture them because he likes to watch the dissatisfaction of his creations" goes, perfect justice requires a punishment. Creation is irrefutable evidence of God to those who do not choose to deny it. The death of Christ is evidence that this God is loving and not willing that any should perish.

I don't know how far 8th grade teaches you, but in universities all around the world engineers, chemists, doctors and others have faith in creation. Lets not dismiss it so quickly next time.

You're a drop out with an 8th grade education, albeit, our school system isn't the greatest, but honestly, don't try and argue when all of what you know is based on a book poorly translated from the Bronze Age.

As a theist you obviously do not have the mental capacity to realize that the most stupid Atheist is still smarter than the most intelligent Christian who does not know that all gods have been invented by people and have never actually existed except in the imaginations of humans.
