How will my dislocated kneecap take to heal?
Back in December I dislocated my right kneecap. It was not anything too serious or severe, I went to the doctor and got an xray and was ordered to wear a splint until it had healed. I wore the splint and in about 3 - 4 weeks it was completely healed. It is now February and it feels like I dislocated it again. I can move my kneecap back from side to side, and I have pain when I bend it too far, but I can walk perfectly fine. To make things worse I am in my schools musical and need to be able to dance. How long do you think it will take to heal and how should I treat it?
(Oh and we recently got done auditioning, and I think it hurt it doing the audition dance)
Should I just wear the splint until it heals again? How long will that take?
thank you very much!!
I'm 17 if that helps, also.

How long it takes to heal depends on how much damage you did to your ligaments. You'd probably be better off wearing an elasticated support bandage as that will allow you to remove freely.
